Lonato, 01 July 2018. At the South Garda Karting in Lonato, new protagonists in the ACI Karting Italian Championship have risen to the fore, especially in KZ2, where in Race-1 Francesco Celenta returned to Prague-Tm, the 2016 Italian Champion which is now in the fight for the 2018 title, but also new faces like Simone Cunati on CRG-Tm that at the debut with the new Team Modena Kart has immediately centered the victory in Race-2.

The fourth round of the Italian Championship, which at Lonato saw a total of 210 riders at the start, then proposed several new names on the double podium of KZ2 compared to the first tests of the season, where it was above all Giacomo Pollini on Formula K-Tm to be a major player. In KZ2, with 60 drivers, Pollini on the home circuit was not able to express himself as he wanted, collecting only a sixth and fifth place in the two Finals. The podium of Race-1 with Celenta winner was completed by the second place of the German Maximilian Paul with DR-Modena, and by Filippo Berto, another driver of Modena Kart with CRG-Tm, with the third place. On the first step of the podium of Race-2 Cunati climbed that ended so positively his first weekend with the new team, while in second place was Mirko Torsellini on KR-Iame. Celenta was still on the podium with the third place confirming its renewed competitiveness. Who seemed to be able to fight for the win initially was Andrea Dalè on CRG-Tm after his best time in practice, in Race-1 instead the driver from Brescia had a penalty in Race-1 for an incident on Davide Forè ( BirelArt-Tm), while in race-2 he failed to do better than the eighth position.

The 60 Mini with 81 riders has once again proposed the competitiveness of the young Russian Coskun Irfan on Parolin-Tm, winner of the first final at the end of a good fight in front of the Polish Karol Pasiewicz (Energy-Tm) and the Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne (Parolin -Tm), with the Belgian Ean Eyckmans (Parolin-Tm) fourth and the Romanian Alex Iancu (Maranello-Tm) in fifth position after the latter had gone ahead of the race. In Race-2 it was Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Energy-Tm) who took the upper hand and won the second final in front of his team-mate, Serbian Andrej Petrovic, with Pasiewicz third. In the fourth and fifth positions, Eyckmans and Stenshorne were again placed.

The OK-Junior in Race-1 saw the first success of the Moroccan rider Suleiman Zanfari, on Tony Kart-Vortex, ahead of the Chilean Nicolas Pino (Tony Kart-Iame) and Tommaso Chiappini (Formula K-Tm). In the second final the victory went instead to Pino in front of Zanfari, while in third position was placed Selina Prantl (Exprit-Tm).

Excellent participation in this test for the two categories of the Rok Cup. The Junior presented itself with 33 riders, and to win the first final was the Brazilian Matheus Morgatto on Parolin-Vortex, ahead of Paolo Ferrari (Parolin-Vortex) and Raffaele Gulizia (Tony Kart-Vortex). In the second final Federico Cecchi was imposed on Ugo Ugochukwu and Luca Bosco, all three on Tony Kart-Vortex.

In the Senior Rok, with 19 drivers, the victory went to Pietro Delli Guanti (Exprit-Vortex) on the two Poles Kacper Szczurek and Maciej Szyszko, both on Kosmic-Vortex. In Race-2 Giuseppe Gaglianò imposed himself on Energy-Vortex, who had placed seventh in race-1. Szczurek and Delli Guanti completed the podium respectively with the second and third place.

In the two categories of Rotax, the victory in the Senior was won in both the finals by Davide Vuano (Praga-Rotax). In the first final the second position went to Patrick Marchetto (Praga-Rotax) in front of Giacomo Parisotto (Exprit-Rotax), in the second final was Parisotto to place second ahead of Marchetto. In the Rotax Junior podium photocopy for both finals, with Elia Galvanin (Exprit-Rotax) in first position in front of Cristian Babbolin (Tony Kart-Rotax) and Emma Segattini (Intrepid-Rotax).
