Oberon is a young brand in the chassis sector, but it is backed by the experience of the Benedetti family. Homologated in 2015, in 2016 the kart is packed with other interesting innovations. Let’s find out.
The new chassis
Ocean! This is the name of the Oberon kart that remains on the sea-inspired theme of the otehr model: the Shark.
While the latter is intended for intermational categories, the Ocean aims to meet the needs of drivers who compete in national classes, those that still attract amateurs.
The frame is manufactured by Parolin Racing Kart based on Oberon Racing Kart’s guidelines, design and technical specifics.
It has a classic shape, with mixed 30 and 32 mm tubes. Technical innovations presented in the 2015 homologation include: cold welding, which preserves tube characteristics; new pedal attachments that allow for less welding points; a re-designed floor board attachment; light-weight fairings (with redesigned graphics) and supports that cut overall weight by 2.5 kg; new steering column central trapeze with adjustable footrest rod.
Changes for 2016
Despite being a kart that was only approved last year, in 2016 Oberon Racing Kart has introduced several innovations. Based on continuous development, thanks also to a number of track tests, a lot of work was carried out on the bodywork, experimenting with different types of tubes to adapt to the various types of tyres.
