Easykart - A Sunday of entertainment in Siena
GM

27 August 2020

A beastly Sunday on the occasion of the third round of the season: the Easykart Palio di Siena was staged with Qualifying, Prefinals and Finals under the banner of competition, adrenaline and passion that have always driven our Trophy.

With the great heat typical of the Italian summer, air temperatures at over 35 degrees and the asphalt at around 50, the champions of the Tuscan stage were declared: Luca Bertonelli (BMB Challenge), Francesco Ruga (125 Easykart), Rosolino Caralla (125 Senior), Tonalini Cristian (60 Easy) and Daniele d'Urso (100).

BMB Challenge: Luca Bertonelli is the eleventh different winner out of as many races

With the victory of Luca Bertonelli, the BMB Challenge reaches a new record: out of 11 Finals played, in fact, 11 different winners have followed one another (Andrea Moretti, Alessandro Gnecchi, Riccardo Volpi, Mattia Livraghi, Erika Lavazza, Gianluca Guiotto, Alessandro Salvarani , Daniele Vezzelli, Hayden Lupifieri, Marco Bernardi and now Luca Bertonelli).

Bertonelli returns from Siena with pole position, victory in the Prefinal and in the Final: a full haul at the end of a weekend fought on the edge of cents, already starting from qualifying with the pole conquered for just 56 thousandths! In the Final, Luca preceded Marco Bernardi by 0.085 and Leonardo Principalli by less than a second.

125 Easykart: Francesco Ruga wins at the end of a great comeback

Third consecutive victory for Francesco Ruga, but what an effort! After losing the pole position by only 81 thousandths to Nicolò Menapace, Ruga fell to the back of the group in the opening lap of the Prefinal won by Menapace. Thanks to fast laps, Francesco first managed to recover up to sixth place in the Prefinal and then to close the most important race in front of everyone. Andrea Torello conquers the place of honor, third place for Filippo Demartini. Third at the finish line, Francesco Serafini was penalized by five seconds for the front nose.

125 Senior: Rosolino Caralla returns to success

After the second place in Jesolo, Caralla returns to victory at the end of a weekend dominated with pole position, victory in the Prefinal and in the Final: a Sunday lived as a protagonist, with lap times and race pace with the absolute best in the category. Roberto Baroni returns to compete, excellent second place for him, third for just over three tenths Marco Beretta.

60 Easy: second win of the season for Cristian Tonalini

After winning the inaugural round, Cristian Tonalini is back in front of everyone at the end of an incredible Final, won only on the last lap! Winner in the Prefinal and third until the last lap in the last race, Tonalini managed to overtake the two drivers fighting each other in the last corners and triumphed by just over a tenth. On the second step of the podium Emilio Tedesco, author of the pole position, while in third place was classified Nicholas Tomasella.

100 Easy: three out of three for Daniele d’Urso

Third consecutive victory for Daniele d'Urso, at the end of a very intense day lived in the name of "close encounters" determined by the practically zero gap between the top riders: d'Urso, in fact, won his third success with an advantage of 0.425 on Tommaso Santini, third Andrea Calabrese - again on the podium. D'Urso, Santini and Calabrese were also the authors of a crazy pre-final with continuous overtaking and decided only at the photo finish with d'Urso winning by nine thousandths of a second over Santini and 82 over Calabrese. Pole position conquered by Tommaso Santini.

Easytraining: simulations continue

Important protagonists of the Tuscan "hot" weekend are also the baby drivers of Easytraining, the non-competitive category dedicated to children and the "non-competitive" spirit was born to bring them closer to the world of motorsport through meetings held by Instructor Sabino de Castro, free practice and race simulations under the supervision of De Castro himself and of the Birel ART staff.

Easykart does not stop. The fight to decree the absolute champions of this particular season is now getting to the heart: the Circus Easykart moves to Lombardy with a back-to-back in September in Castelletto and on the new track of Castrezzato that will surely be exciting. Stay tuned: all the information to register for the fourth meeting of 4-6 September at the “7 Laghi Kart” in Castelletto di Branduzzo will be published shortly.

Stay racing, stay happy… and think Easy!
