Great restart for WSK Super Master Series in Adria
GM

29 June 2020

Hot weather and a very good paddock enlivened by the official outfits and strongest teams on the International scene that gathered at the Adria Karting Raceway for the first day dedicated to free practice of this intense racing programme spanning from June 29th to July 5th. The third and fourth round of WSK Super Master Series will in fact take place in the course of just one week.

Following a forced stop of four months due to the Covid-19 emergency, International Karting is back with a full immersion with the four categories MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 in Adria committed to continue the 15th WSK Promotion season that they had started before the sanitary lock-down that blocked Italy and most of the world alike. Despite these difficult times, teams responded very well and over 180 drivers joined this event (182 for the third and 186 for the fourth round for a total of 368 verified drivers) in what has to be considered as a positive signal for the restart of the whole racing sector. The WSK Super Master Series comes from the figures of 362 drivers on track in Lonato on February 23rd, but the round in Adria is still affected by the limited connections among different countries and especially Russia, North Europe, Asia and America.

Three of the four classification leaders are present: the Brit Arvid Lindblad (KR-Iame-Vega/KR Motorsport), who is leading OKJ at 149 points, his fellow-countryman Joe Turney (Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone/Tony Kart Racing Team) on top of OK at 137 points and the Italian Giuseppe Palomba (BirelArt-TM Racing-Vega/BirelArt Racing) who is leading KZ2 at 107 points. The Russian leader of MINI Gerasim Skulanov (IPK-TM Racing-Vega/Formula K Serafini) is absent instead despite his 188 points granted him the classification lead. His closest rival, the Russian Dmitry Matveev (Energy-TM Racing-Vega/Energy Corse) will try and make the most of the situation as he is currently second at 105 points.

LIVE STREAMING ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. The program of the weekend of this very long WSK Super Master Series event announces to be very exciting with the finals of round three scheduled for Saturday July 4th as the fourth and final round will end on Sunday, July 5th defining the winners of the four entitled categories. The racing action of the closing two days will be available through the Live Streaming feed from www.wskarting.it.
