WHEN SOME HENS STOPPED A KARTING RACE

My passion for karts has very old roots: at the time, my parents and I had a workshop and we worked on the engines of mopeds and motorcycles. One day, a client of mine brought in the engine of a kart and asked me to overhaul and tune it. I said no.

But he did not give up, and after months of continuous requests I gave in: "Give it to me and I’ll try to see how it's made". The fact is that I had never seen these engines and thought I would find myself getting involved in who knows what. Instead, after opening it up, I realised it was identical to the engines I worked on every day, those of two-stroke bikes.

From there ... well, you know how these things go ... You have a go at first, just to try; then it becomes a challenge with your friends, and in a few weeks, you find yourself getting involved in a race. All basically without knowing anything about karting.
