The CIK FIA European Championship for the KZ category has in recent years grown to become the elite level continental championship in the world. Attracting the world's best drivers and teams to compete in open KZ equipment, the KZ European Championship has evolved in recent years to become arguably the premier event on the CIK FIA European Calendar, particularly in the past two decades as circuits have become longer and faster allowing the 6 speed gearbox machines to show their top speeds of well in excess of 150km/h on circuits such as Sarno and Zuera. Previous champions include Marco Ardigo, Max Verstappen, Bas Lammers, Jorrit Pex and Paolo De Conto.
