First race with our new OKJ driver, Christian Ho
The Sauber Karting Team just completed the first round of the WSK Open Cup with a new entry; driver Christian Ho from Singapore has joined the program in OKJ and completed a great job, being competitive throughout the whole week end, finishing 5th in the final!
OKJ driver, Christian Ho:
It’s been a positive first week end for me with the Sauber Karting Team! I gradually built my confidence with the team and the chassis during free practice and made it to qualify 2nd overall on friday.
I have to say I’m really happy with the Kart Republic chassis; it has a lot of grip, so it feels really good to drive, and also the IAME engine feels very good!
I’m happy to be part of this team; Dino and Richard helped me a lot this week end, so I think we have good potential for the future!
Sauber Karting Team Manager, Richard:
“This time we had Christian Ho debuting with us in OKJ and he did a pretty good job!
He scored pole in his group on friday and drove very well during the heats. He later finished his pre-final 4th and later 5th in the final. He’s in the fight for this WKS title, so we will push extra hard in the next round to catch the title!
My impressions so far have been pretty positive, as he seems to be really focused and he can read a race very well; I believe he will be fighting for the win next year!”
KR General Manager, Dino Chiesa:
“We started working with some new drivers from this week end, also integrating OKJ in our Sauber program, with driver Christian Ho. They all had a very good week end, and Ho did great from qualifying, proving we have good potential for next year. We feel we raised our level up in OKJ!
We’re looking forward to the next and final round of the series in Castelletto di Branduzzo, where Christian might also win the series!”
