The great story between Sodikart and endurance has been enriched by a new and particularly brilliant chapter on the occasion of the 34th edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours Karting held this last weekend of September. Present in number, the Sodi chassis have indeed achieved excellent results at the most famous endurance races in the world. The official Sodikart GP1 team won the general classification by winning its second consecutive FIA Karting Endurance Champion title, while the GP2 class ended with the presence of three Sodi chassis on the podium.

The 24 Hours Karting plateau was the culmination of the rise in competition of the world's leading kart manufacturer. Sodi chassis accounted for more than 50% of the workforce at Le Mans, a significant increase since the previous edition. The performance of French chassis coupled with their high quality of manufacture continues to conquer more endurance teams, a particularly demanding discipline for hardware.

24 hours of intense racing
As part of the FIA Karting Endurance Championship, which gathers OK-powered GP1 karts, the official Sodikart crew was confronted with the best endurance racing specialists. Sodi Racing Team's Team Manager Julien Dexmier used Nicolas Scelles' experience to prepare for the event, while Jordan Grégoire managed the team during the event. The engine was made as in 2018 by TM Racing factory and closely followed by Franco Drudi, his best technician. Regarding the training, the three official drivers Sodi Anthony Abbasse (FRA), Bas Lammers (NLD) and Adrien Renaudin (FRA) were joined by a young and increasingly convincing driver in KZ2 International within Team CPB Sport, Jean Nomblot (FRA).

The kart # 1 - Sodikart quickly took the lead in the first lap before being slowed down by a minor mechanical problem (broken valve). The crew made it a point of honor to return to the front ranks without delay and to compete in first place against very determined opponents while following a 24-hour race chart. Sodikart progressively outdistanced its rivals in the late evening and had a lead of almost 10 turns in the early morning. The rain, which appeared around 8:00 am, did not hinder the triumphal march of the Sodikart team. After 1446 laps, more than 2000 km of race, Bas Lammers crossed at 15:00 the finish line as a winner with 13 laps ahead of its direct pursuer, the No. 55 Rouen Espace Karting also equipped with a chassis Sodi . This is another Sodi, the one of the 24 Wintec who signed the best lap in the race.

The battle proved tighter in the GP2 category. The leaders followed one another at the beginning of the race, then during the night without managing to sustainably maintain their advantage according to the adventures of the competition. The arrival of the rain in the early morning was still changing the situation. The poleman No. 72-SO 24 KMD managed to finally take orders after 20 hours of racing. It was another significant success for Sodikart by winning the GP2 6-lap class ahead of No. 76-Circuit Europe, the first Master, and No. 36-Cormeilles KMD, for a 100% Sodi podium.

Bertrand Pignolet, the President of Sodikart, was delighted by these new victories, adding to a 2019 list already very well filled: "We had set ourselves the goal of maintaining the title of Endurance Champion FIA Karting acquired last year . The victory of our crew was even more impressive this year, despite strong French opposition. I want to congratulate our pilots as well as all the team members who have done a great job. I am also very satisfied that the quality of our products allows other teams to shine as was the case in GP2 ".
