WSK Euro Series, rd 2, Lonato: Heats - The leaders are Longhi (KZ2), Turney (OK), Cepil (OKJ) and Sorensen (MINI)

Under a beating sun, the MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 drivers finished the Qualifying Heats lap that defined the starting grids of the Prefinals of the second round of the WSK Euro Series scheduled for Saturday 19/9. Here are the rankings at the end of the day just ended on South Garda Karting.

KZ2: Longhi takes the summit

  • Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) wins three wins and wins the start in first position for Prefinal A of the second round. Unchallenged dominance for the Vice World Champion who confirms the excellent feeling with the Lonato circuit.

  • The new European KZ Champion Marijn Kremers (Birel ART Racing - Ricciardo Kart - TM Racing) loses the first position, scoring two wins and two third places that give him second place. The Birel ART Racing Team also occupies third place with Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing).

  • Stan Pex (KR Motorsport - KR - TM Racing) earns fourth place, Matteo Viganò (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) closes the top five with a comeback of five positions compared to timed practice.

  • In sixth position a constant Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K Racing Team - Formula K - TM Racing), seventh Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport - KR - Iame) followed by team mate Mirko Torsellini (KR Motorsport - KR - Iame). Emilien Denner (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) closes the top ten ninth, making his debut with the Tony Kart Racing Team and Jorrit Pex (KR Motorsport - KR - TM Racing).

  • Paolo Ippolito (CRG - CRG - TM Racing) is fourteenth in the general classification due to a retirement in the Heat D-E.

OK: Joseph Turney confirms himself as leader

  • Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) with one victory and two second places in the heats disputed is the best driver for the OK category. On Saturday the Englishman will start from pole in Prefinal A, while Juho Valtanen (Pantano Team - KR - IAME), second today, will start in first position in Prefinal B.

  • Third position in the general classification for a constant Rafa Camara (Forza Racing - Exprit Kart - TM Racing) always third at the finish.

  • Fourth Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME). The new European Champion takes a 10 second penalty for Jumpstart in heat A-B which makes him finish in twelfth position. In the other heats with a second place and a victory confirms his competitiveness.

  • Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) closes the top five. In sixth position Laurens Van Hoepen (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) in a comeback of thirteen positions.

  • Seventh position for Levi Revesz (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME), eighth Charlie Wurz (Exprit Racing Team - Exprit Kart - Vortex Engines), ninth Michael Paparo (Praga Karts Racing Team - Praga Kart - TM Racing) tenth Nikita Bedrin (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex) who lost seven positions compared to qualifying.

  • Reigning World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) closes in fifteenth position.

OKJ: Igor Cepil resumes command

  • Igor Cepil (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) with two wins and a third place is the best of the day and confirms his position in the championship standings awaiting the Prefinal on Saturday. Behind him Brando Badoer (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) and the European Champion of the category Ugo Ugochukwu (Sauber karting Team - KR - IAME).

  • Fourth position for Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) followed by Alfio Spina (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex). Six positions recovered and sixth position for Nikola Tsolov (Dpk Racing - KR - IAME) followed by Christian Ho (Sauber karting Team - KR - IAME) who recovers eleven from qualifying.

  • The top ten was closed by Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (Birel ART Racing - RK - TM Racing) eighth, the Italian Valerio Ricnicella (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) was ninth and Martinius Stenshorne (Rosberg Racing Academy - KR - IAME) finished tenth.

  • To underline the comeback of 26 positions of Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport - Kosmic kart - Vortex) who is worth the fourteenth position and that of Maxwell Dodds (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) who recovers 30 positions conquering the eighteenth place.

MINI: Kai Sorensen comes back to take the lead

  • Kai Sorensen (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) with three second places wins the start at the post for Prefinal A. The Parolin Racing driver straightens the day on Wednesday which saw him set only the seventeenth time.

  • Second position for Andreas Cardenas (Energy Corse - Energy - TM Racing) who confirms yesterday's position in qualifying. With two victories, a fifth and a seventh place Christian costoya (CRG - CRG - TM Racing) takes the third position.

  • Excellent result for Rene Lammers (Baby Race Driver Academy - Parolin - Iame) with twenty-one positions recovered that are worth fourth place. Closes the top five Adam Hideg (Kidix - KR - IAME).

  • Poleman Kean Nakamura-Berta (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) is only ninth due to a retirement in Heat A-B. In the heats he signs three victories.

  • Difficult day for Francesco Amendola (Revolution Motorsport - Energy - TM Racing) who, after setting the fifth time in qualifying, lost 33 positions.
