Arvid Linblad has been victorious in the OKJ class during the third round of WSK Euro Series at South Garda Karting in Lonato (Italy). The Forza Racing driver dominated the final taking the podium ahead of Wharton and Antonelli.

Despite starting from pole position for prefinal A, James Wharton (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega) could not kept the lead during the race for more than a lap, when the Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/Iame/Vega) overtook him for the lead. The Rosberg Racing Academy driver pulled away from the Ricky Flynn kart to secure the pole position for the final ahead of Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega) and Alfio Spina (KR/Iame/Vega).

Meanwhile in prefinal B, Ugo Ugochukwu (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega) led from lights to flag the whole race to secure a front-row start for the final. The big battle was for second place between Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart/Vortex/Vega), Jamie Day (Exprit/Vortex/Vega) and Martinius Stenshorne (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega). It was Bedrin who finally hold on to finish second.

The prefinals bring a big interesting surprise. William Siverholm (Tony Kart/Vortex/Vega) who was one of the top drivers during qualifying heats had to retire in prefinal A.

In the final, Thomas Ten Brinke started taking the lead. Despite that, pole sitter Andrea Kimi Antonelli retook the lead on lap 3. But not for much time as the British Arvid Linblad (Exprit/TM Racing/Vega) took the lead and escaped from the leader group to secure the race victory.

Behind them, James Wharton in second place was defendning his position against Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Alfio Spina. But It was Spina who finally overtook the Australian for the second final place, Wharton finished third.

But after the race, Spina was penalized due to a bad manoeuvre which let Wharton finish second and Antonelli finish third to complete the podium.

The bad manoeuvre for which Spina was penalised resulted in Ugo Ugochukwu falling down the order. A heartbreaking outcome for the American driver, as he was a serious contender for the final victory after scoring the pole position and a first place in prefinal B.

In the Euro Series standings, Antonelli keeps the lead ahead of Thomas Ten Brinke by 22 points. A little bit more far back is Bedrin with 34 points less than the Italian.

In the other hand, in the Italian championship it is Nikita Bedrin is in the lead with 157 points, while Ten Brinke follows him with 113 points.

The last round of WSK Euro Series will be held at Adria Karting Raceway next week.
