Max Bernardi
23 June 2019

Dexter Patterson has completely dominated the weekend in OK class during the third round of WSK Euro Series at South Garda Karting in Lonato (Italy). Patterson won ahead of Travisanutto and Thompson. .

As happened in qualifying heats, this morning Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/Bridg) continued his great pace to dominate prefinal A. The Sauber Karting Team driver was under pressure by Gabriele Mini (Parolin/TM Racing/Bridg) the only driver who beat the Scots this weekend, but the Italian saw how he got the black flag with the orange disc, which meant that the Italian had to retire. A bad situation for Mini which will affect a lot his championship chances.

Meanwhile, Joshua Dufek (KR/Iame/Bridg) completed a Sauber Karting one-two after his great comeback from seventh place.

In prefinal B, Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) had to deal with the early lead of Red Bull junior driver, Harry Thompson (FA Kart/Vortex/Bridg). But the Swede finally beat the Briton to win the race.

In the final, like it happened during the whole weekend, Dexter Patterson dominated from lights-to-flag. The Scottish won by almost a four seconds lead over Lorenzo Travisanutto who finished second.

The battle for second was the hottest point of the race. At the start, it was Joshua Dufek who take second place. The Swiss driver could not keep the pace of his teammate, and the middle point of the race, Lorenzo Travisanutto overtook him, the same did Harry Thompson for the final place of the podium.

The race had three highlighted crashes. At the start the RS Schumacher Racing driver Leandro Anderruti (IPKarting/Iame/Bridg) almost lost the control of his kart at turn 1, with Alekseenkov Grigoriy (Tony Kart/TM Racing/Bridg) retiring from the race. Then Kirill Smal (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) and Matheus Morgatto (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) also had to retire in a multiple crash. Finally, Anderruti and Jace Gessel (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) crashed into each other at the penultimate turn.

In the Euro Series Standings, Lorenzo Travisanutto leaves Lonato with the lead of the championship with 215 points. Follows closely the Italian in the championship hunt, Dino Beganovic – 196 points, Dexter Patterson -190 points and Dilano Van T’Hoff – 120 points.

In the Italian championship Beganovic keeps the lead with 180 points, 41 point more than Patterson.

The last round of WSK Euro Series will be held at Adria Karting Raceway next week.
