Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) at the moment, is the leader of the unofficial general intermediate standings. This morning we saw the heats take place in dry conditions, and the heats in the afternoon in wet conditions. The first of which was raced with slick tires.

Behind Hajek, Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart / TM Racing), put in an amazing performance today given that it is his return to racing after a long period on the sidelines due to injury.

Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM Racing), who started down the order on the starting grid due to the less than brilliant qualifying practice, recovered well in his first heat. In the second, he won, in the rain, with an incredible pass - that we will remember for a long time - on Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K / TM Racing). The French driver was fast and made no mistakes on either dry or wet condition

From third through to tenth position was Fabian Federer (CRG / TM Racing), Marijn Kremers (BirelArt / TM Racing), Simo Puhakka (Kosmic / Vortex), Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / TM Racing), Davide Forè (Righetti Ridolfi / TM Racing) and Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Tony Kart / Vortex). The Englishman, back driving after a year as team-manager, was surprising in the first heat, in wet conditions he paid the price for a lack of tracktime in the previous months.

Definitely not a day to remember for Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart / Vortex). The Italian can also blame a forgettable European season, still suffering from a rib injury and in his second heat suffers a broken engine and is only 25^th at this point.

Ronnie Quintarelli (BrielArt / TM Racing) continues to impress. In the dry he is only 2 tenths off the leaders, an admirable showing given that the GT pilot has not raced karts for years, letalone a KZ kart, and in Japan he is used to driving in single make karts on tyres with a lot more grip and security than those used in KZ.
