[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Sofina Foods Florida Winter Tour Presented by Fikse Wheels ROK Cup USA championship is travelling north for the second round of competition hosted at the picturesque Ocala Gran Prix. The race is held from February 11-14, with drivers beginning qualifying on Friday, February 12.
The action continues after the thrilling first round at Homestead Karting. Many of the final races came down to a last lap battle as multiple lead changes occurred in nearly every class.
Deuk Spine Institute ROK Shifter is one of the most highly anticipated classes present at the ROK weekend. After Ocala Gran Prix’s Austin Garrison charged past Costa Rica native Danny Formal for the victory, the crowds will be watching eagerly if Formal can repeat his strong performance, or if Garrison can widen his championship lead at his team’s home circuit.
Piquet Sports Senior ROK was full of drama in Homestead as the 2015 FWT Senior ROK Champion Kyle Kirkwood surged through the field to take the win from the 23rd position, but received penalties that would award the win to Brazil’s Olin Galli. All eyes will be on Kirkwood to see if he can bounce back to the podium.
Junior class sophomore Michael d’Orlando impressed the crowd with a stellar drive for the win in Orsolon

Racing Junior ROK. Achieving his first win in the class, d’Orlando had some comments about the upcoming challenges: “The competition in Ocala will be a little harder I believe. This is (Mathias) Ramirez’s home track so he'll be tough to beat. They gave me a great challenge in Homestead, but it was a very satisfying win.”
With a double victory from BENIK in AM Engines Micro ROK and Ocala Gran Prix Mini ROK, the team looks to build it’s lead as they race in Ocala. A highly impressive drive from Oliver Denny in Micro ROK, and a confident performance from Derek Carmenate in Mini ROK allowed BENIK to break out into an early lead in the two young divisions.
Finally, Bordogna Racing Engines Masters ROK was a clean sweep for former IndyCar racer Raphael Matos in Homestead. Matos is looking for another clean sweep in Ocala as Anthony Honeywell and Adam Pettit continue their battle for the championship. Victor Jimenez leads the Deuk Spine Institute ROK Shifter Masters class coming into the second ROK weekend.
As the stage is set for another stellar round, the anticipation builds as teams begin to arrive at the circuit. The Ocala Gran Prix circuit features a balanced mix of long high-speed sweepers, to tight and slow hairpins occupying the infield of the 6/10-mile, eight turn track. Live event streaming will be available starting Friday.
