Cold and rain didn’t stop a great show from going on at the first  round of the X30 Challenge Europa, the single-brand championship promoted by IAME and dedicated to drivers who have a Parilla X30 engine, which was raced last weekend on the Karting des Fagnes circuit in Mariembourg, Belgium.

About 70 drivers (plus about fifteen drivers from the  IAME Belgian championship in the Mini category) challenged each other in the four categories present at the start, looking to conquer the first important points in view of the next rounds in Ampfing, Germany, on May 27, and Lavelanet, France, on July 1.
In the X30 Junior (dedicated to drivers ages 13 to 15) Aurélien Debouny (Kosmic) did a photo-finish by just 69 thousandths over Bonduel (CRG) who lead the race for most of the time. In the X30 Senior (ages 15 and up), Di Giacomo (Kosmic) was a bolt of lightning on the wet, with only Vermeylen (Tecno) to stop him in the prefinal. Then  in the decisive race the Belgian of Italian origins won ahead of Gounon (Sodi) and Borges-Martins (Kosmic). In the X30 Master, Pierre Allemand (PCR) dominated the weekend ahead of Pecheny (DR) and Blasi (DR). In the X30 Shifter Paul Romain (Sodi) imposed himself, by winning both the prefinal and the final with also best lap.
