The drivers of the German Kart Championship were welcomed last weekend to the 1.107 meter long Erftlandring in Kerpen for the fourth out of five rounds. With summer at its best weather, six drivers participated for the factory team of the German kart manufacturer and showed an overall strong performance.

Only one week after their success at the ADAC Kart Masters, the team alongside Martin Hetschel travelled back to Kerpen, this time the German Kart Championship was guest on the Erftlandring. Mach1 Kart sent their drivers in three different categories in the race and faced a strong yield.

In the champions league DKM Tim Tröger and David Liwinski encountered the best international kart drivers. In doing so both can be proud of what they have achieved. During qualifying they managed to place an excellent fifth and sixth position. Unfortunately during the Heats the duo dropped out and slipped into 20th position because of that. Afterwards, Liwinski underwent successful finals and took the checkered flag for ninth and tenth position. In contrast to others, things went differently for Tröger. In the second final he clearly placed in the Top-Ten, however a time penalty placed him into twelfths position.

The weekend proceeded exactly the other way around for Pawel Myszkier. The Polish driver clearly improved in the Heats and the Finals. At the end of the race weekend he finished third and fourth, despite strong rib pain. With that he collected many championship points and ranked sixth overall in the rankings. The two other drivers Tim Schröder and Marcel Schultheiß had no deficiencies and fell right behind the Top-Ten.

Julian Müller made his comeback as a soloist in the DSKM and can stand proud. Ranked in the international top-field, the young man from Cologne was competitive and underlined the potential of the Mach1 Kart from the very beginning. Ultimately he finished the Finals ranking tenth and a superb fourth in the afternoon race – meanwhile setting the fastest lap.

In the evening Martin Hetschel was completely satisfied after those strong results and concluded a positive summary: “There is not much to complain about. If the two drivers in the DKM did not have such problems during the Heats, they would have been driving in the front as well. Equally a great deal of praise goes out to our factory supported Team DS Kartsport which drove, with its driver, a new record in the qualifications of the DSKM.”

The Mach1 Kart will continue for the next four weeks at the finals of the DKM in Belgian Genk.
