February 16, 2018 – After months of negotiations, ROK Cup Promotions is pleased to announce a long-term agreement with the Sim Performance Driving Center located at Sonoma Raceway. The agreement will see the Vortex Engine platform and Bridgestone Tire combination run at the famed facility and the local program take on the name of ROK Sonoma Presented by Sanzaru Games, as the video game development studio will return as primary sponsor for the series.

“We are pleased to have a solid program in place in California that will help us build the foundation for ROK programs on the West Coast,” explains ROK Cup Promotions Director of Operations Garett Potter. “With the Challenge of the Americas making the switch to the ROK platform and their first successful event week under their belt, we can add another solid series and track to the list that will house the Vortex ROK and Bridgestone Tire product lines.”

Prizes for the ROK Sonoma Presented by Sanzaru Games series will include tickets to the highly anticipated ROK the RIO event for champions in each class, as well as other special prizes throughout the year.

Race #1 – March 10-11
Race #2 – April 7-8
Race #3 – May 11-12
Race #4 – June 9-10
Race #5 – July 7-8

Potter continues, “ROK Cup USA will have a full support program in place that not only includes helping elevate the current program at the Sim Raceway Performance Driving Center, but we will also work with all local dealers and teams to build to one of the largest karting programs in the country.”

As part of the new partnership, Sim Performance Driving Center will add a fleet of school karts powered by ROK GP engines to help elevate and grow not only the school aspect but to drive new racers to the club program.

“I want to thank Steve from Cameron Karting for all the work he has put into this effort. We look forward to building a great program on the West Coast with him and his team,” concludes Potter.
