26 April 2019

Dexter Patterson in OK, Thomas Ten Brinke in OKJ and Francesco Marenghi in Mini have been the pole sitters for the second round of WSK Euro Series at the French track of Angerville.

OK: Dexter Patterson continues his pace

Before the qualifying practice, four free practice sessions took part. In all of them, Kart Republic was the clear leader in the always competitive OK class. Nikolas Pirttilahti (KR/Iame/Bridg) set the fastest time in the first practice, while Taylor Barnard was the quickest in the second one. Lorenzo Travisanutto finished as the quickest in the last practices before qualifying.

After taking the victory just 5 days ago at the Circuit Gabriel Thiourin (Angerville), the Sauber Karting driver, Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/Bridg) once again took the pole position in a one-two-three for Kart Republic, with reigning world champion Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR/Iame/Bridg) finishing second and Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame/Bridg) completing the top3.

OKJ: Ten Brinke beats Jamie Day

The practice session for OK-Junior was all about OTK drivers, with Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart/Vortex/Vega) leading the field in all the practices except one, in which it was Jamie Day who set the quickest lap-time.

Dutch driver Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega) took the pole position by only 0.091 seconds over the Arabian Jamie Day (Exprit/Vortex/Vega). Both drivers were the quickest on track with a small field in a very competitive category in which the top 8 are only separated by 2 tenths.

Mini: Francesco Marenghi on pole position

The second qualifying practice session was the quickest in Mini, and especially quick was the Gamoto driver Francesco Marenghi (Tony Kart/TM Racing/Vega) who was 4 tenth quicker than Joel Bergstrom (Parolin/TM Racing/Vega) who was the quickest on the first group.

Marenghi set a stellar lap time, beating by almost two tenths the local driver Guillaume Bouzar (Ipkarting/TM Racing/Vega) who was the second quickest in the second qualifying group.

Tomorrow it will be the time to fight for the starting grid for the prefinals with all the qualifying heats
