PRESS RELEASE - TKART - The young driver of Maranello Kart Tommaso Mosca claimed his first victory in KZ2 at the circuit of Adria in the third round of the Italian Championship. Great podium also for Lorenzo Giannoni in Race-2.

The third round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship held at the Adria Karting Raceway ended with a spectacular victory in KZ2 for Maranello Kart and Tommaso Mosca and as Lorenzo Giannoni took a good podium.

Both drivers of the Italian outfit, behind the Maranello Kart RS10 chassis, turned out to be particularly quick in the final stages of this important appointment, that saw 42 drivers on track in KZ2. In the first of the two Finals of Adria, the very young Tommaso Mosca –  15 years old from Brescia – has been victorious with a race pace that was superior to that of all rivals, after being among the quickest also in the heats where he ended fourth absolute.

In race-1, Mosca started from the second row of the grid and took an early lead claiming the win with a good margin on 2014 Italian Champion, Lorenzo Camplese as his team mate Lorenzo Giannoni secured a good seventh place from the 15th spot of the grid.

The second Final saw Lorenzo Giannoni putting in a good race too, after starting from the first row due to the top 8 grid inversion. At the flag, Giannoni confirmed to be among the protagonists of the weekend taking a podium with a great P3, after leading the race in the initial laps. Mosca was seventh in this occasion, fighting with the front runners until the end.

Tommaso Mosca: “I think my victory has been a deserved one. I have been quick since practice, even if I could have done better in qualifying. In the heats I recovered well instead. In Race-1 I did not have problems to get the lead and to take the victory. This is my first success in KZ2 and I am really very happy also for my team.”

Stefano Griggio, Maranello Kart's technical manager: “Tommaso Mosca is very quick and today he has proved it. He is young, but he will shortly show all his potential. In Adria he run a great race; after taking the lead he kept some more experienced drivers behind, managing his race well. Mosca comes from KF3 and he mastered the KZ2 chassis very well since the beginning. We developed the RS10 chassis and the result has been excellent. The TM engine unit prepared by Rizzi has been very competitive once again.”

Lorenzo Giannoni: “I had a bit of a troubled start due to a setup problem in qualifying, but then I managed to get back the lost ground. In Race-1 I recovered well from P15 to P7, while in Race-2 I took the third place of the podium after leading the race. This is my first year in KZ2 and I am really happy on this result.”

Mirko Colombo had a troubled weekend instead and could not secure points for the championship. Colombo managed to qualify for the final stages after running the second chance race that he ended in P3. In the two Finals Colombo gained some further ground ending twice in P22.

KZ2 Championship Standings: 1. Longhi points 94; 2. Mollo 76; 3. Santonocito 62 ... 9. Giannoni 49; 10. Mosca 48; 23. Colombo 8.
