Giuseppe Palomba has taken the victory in a dominant way during the final race of KZ2 class of WSK Open Cup at South Garda Karting (Lonato). The podium was completed by Pollini and Van Walstijn.
The Italian Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM Racing/Bridg) started from pole position for the prefinal but he lost the first place at the start in favour of Giacomo Pollini (Formula K/TM Racing/Bridg).
Pollini tried to keep the position but Palomba overtook him to win the prefinal and to get the pole position for the final, in which he will start ahead of Pollini and Alessio Lorandi (Parolin/TM Racing/Bridg) who overtook the German champion Stan Pex (KR/TM Racing/Bridg) in the early laps.
In the prefinal there was no lack of crashes as Samuel Luyet (CRG/TM Racing/Bridg) made contact with Andrea Dale (Birel ART/TM Racing/Bridg) at the start, ant then Andrea Rosso (Birel ART/TM Racing/Bridg) jumped over Eduard Blokhin (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg).
In the final, Palomba made a very aggressive start almost putting Pollini into the grass. Despite that Pollini kept second place just in front of Alessio Lorandi, while Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) made an incredible start overtaking three positions to get fourth place just in front of Jean Luyet (CRG/TM Racing/Bridg) and Senna Van Walstijn (KR/TM Racing/Bridg).
In the lead, Palomba was pulling away from Pollini who also had a good advantage over Lorandi. But Lorandi was under pressure from Luyet and Van Walstijn who had just overtook Piccini for fourth and fifth place.
In the last laps of the race, Pollini was caught by Lorandi but it was this last one who lost the last step of the podium in benefit of Senna Van Wastijn.
Giuseppe Palomba crossed the checkered-flag as the race winner by 2 seconds clear of Giacomo Pollini, while Senna Van Walstijn completed the podium.
