14 December 2011

Stars of Motorsports, young karters and many events in one: the ERDF Masters Kart in Bercy is not just any race…

17 thousand spectators in two days; racing champions like Bianchi, Loeb, Grosjean, Bourdais, Albuquerque and Vergne; young karters including Leclerc, Ocon, Boccolacci, Olsen, Stroll, O’Keefe, Russell and other famous faces; a 550 metre track set up for the occasion;the brand new Sodi STX electric karts, beautiful and high performing. These are the main ingredients of this past weekend that have borught the great karting show back to Bercy, legendary location of karting duels between Senna and Prost that are carved in the annals. The event, with a new name, ERDF Masters Kart, and a new format featured "stars" and "juniors" battle each other in breathtaking matches including semifinals and final race on Saturday Decmeber 10th and sunday December 11th. Among the "stars" a leading role over both days went to Jean-Eric Vergne (officialized as 2012 Formula 1 Toro Rosso driver a few days after the event): second on Saturday behind Ferrari's third driver Bianchi and first on Sunday.
Instead, among the Juniors a double victpry went to the Monegasque Leclerc, who was able to keep the Frenchmen Ocon and Bocolacci in line in Saturday's final and led over Boccolacci, again, and Hubert on Sunday.
