Lorenzo Travisanutto has taken the victory in the third round of FIA Karting European Championship of OK at Kristianstad (Sweden). The Italian lead a one-two-three for Italy as Gabriele Mini and Luigi Coluccio completed the podium.

The duel between Kart Republic racers, Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/LeCont) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR/Iame/LeCont) today was the thing that most of the paddock was waiting for. Just before the final, heat A-B provided a first round of this battle in which was the reigning world champion, Lorenzo Travisanutto from CV Performance Group who beat the Sauber Karting Team driver Dexter Patterson. Despite that Patterson was the one who set the pole position for the final alongside Travisanutto.

The final started with many accidents in the first chicane, Kirill Smal (Tony Kart/Vortex/LeCont) crashed with Harry Thompson (FA Kart/Vortex/LeCont) while Morgan Porter (KR/Iame/LeCont) lost the control of his kart and made contact with Alessandro Irlando (Birel Art/TM Racing/LeCont). The lasy two had to retire while Thompson and Smal continued on track but later on, Smal retired as well.

Meanwhile, like what happened in OKJ, this time Dexter Patterson suddenly drop a few places and lost the chance to fight for the race victory. The Scotsman drop to eight position, but despite that he managed to finish fourth, like what he did in 2018 for the World Championship.

Strongly and aggressively, Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG/Iame/LeCont) took the lead on lap 2 but his pace was not enough to keep Lorenzo Travisanutto who overtook the Spanish and immediately pulled a one second gap that ensure his victory.

Hiltbrand later was also overtaken by several more drivers. Under all those changing places, the Italians Gabriele Mini (Parolin/TM Racing/LeCont) and Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART/TM Racing/LeCont) took second and third place on lap 6 and they did not lose that place until the checker flag.

The next and final round of FIA Karting European Championship of OKJ will be held from 19th to 21st of July at Le Mans
