Dexter Patterson has converted the pole position in the final into a race victory for the first round of FIA Karting at Angerville, France. The Scottish yet again took a lights-to-flag victory despite the pressure from Juho Valtanen and Gabriele Minì who completed the podium.

The start of the final was just a small work to do for pole sitter Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/LeCont) who kept behind Gabirele Minì (Parolin/TM Racing/LeCont) and Juho Valtanen (Redspeed/Iame/LeCont).

But already in the second chicane a big crash affected to Luigi Coluccio (Birel Art /TM Racing/LeCont), Thomas Imbourg (Kosmic/Iame/LeCont), Maya Weug (Birel Art/TM Racing/LeCont), Carl-Anton Gerner (KR/Iame/LeCont) and Joseph Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex/LeCont).

Meanwhile in the top places, Juho Valtanen quickly overtook Gabirele Mini for second place. The Finn kept this position until the end of the race, followed by Minì Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame/LeCont), Dilano Van T’Hoff (Exprit/TM Racing/LeCont) and Gabriele Bortoleto (CRG/Iame/LeCont).

With the top6 positions immobile since lap 4, one of the big battles was concentrated for the seventh place. First it was Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG/Iame/LeCont), started with tires used in the last heat of the morning, who was in hold of this place but he was quickly overtaken by teammate Gabriel Bortoletto who a lap later advanced to 6th place and pushed Kas Haverkort (CRG/TM Racing/LeCont) to seventh place.

Then, Haverkort had to keep the pressure from a big group of drivers with big names, such as Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR/Iame/LeCont), Alessandro Irlando (Birel ART/TM Racing/LeCont) and Genís Civico (Croc Promotions/TM Racing/LeCont).

But Haverkort who was driving with an incorrect position of the front fairing, could not keep the pressure from the reigning world champion, Lorenzo Travisanutto who overtook him for this final place.

At the checker flag, Dexter Patterson crossed the finish line in first place with an almost perfect weekend been the best in the qualifying heats and wining in the final. Valtanen and Minì followed him.

The next round of FIA Karting European championship will be held in the Belgian circuit of Genk during 16th to 19th of May.
