It was two karts that, de facto, opened the Formula 1 season: in fact, on occasion of the 2012 Pirelli presentation, two famous models challenged each other at the wheel of a kart on the arrival-straight of the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, Arab Emirates.

The presentation of the new season Formula 1 tires was followed by the karting “beauty pageant” between Ines Sastre (38 years old), the Spanish actress and model who in 2000 presented the famous music Festival of Sanremo, and Bianca Balti (28 years old), the Italian muse of the 2011 Pirelli  calendar who rose to fame with Dolce&Gabbana. The beauty contest remains wide open, but on track there are no doubts: Bianca took off with a leaping start and kept the lead until the finish-line. The starters of this exceptional race were Marco Tronchetti Provera, President and Ceo of Pirelli, and Vitaly Petrov, the Russian driver ex-Lotus Renault, now at the wheel of a  Formula 1 two-seater.
