Max Bernardi
10 October 2017

Rome 09/10/2017 – The New Zealander Marcus Armstrong (Prema Power Team) arrived at Mugello for the penultimate round of the championship, with a 17 point advantage over his closest challengers. Thanks to his second place in Race 1, victory in Race 2 and third place in Race 3, he leaves the track with a 53 point advantage over the Dutch driver Job Van Uitert (Jenzer Motorsport), who instead did not improve after an eighth, a second placing and a retirement. 267 points for the leader, 214 for second. An unfortunate weekend also for the Italian Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech), third in the standings, who at Mugello collected 21 points, taking his total to 187, followed by his team mate, the Venezuelan Sebastian Fernandez, on 181 points. For him, after he obtained a pole position in the first qualifying, he won Race 1 and Race 3 (although he retired in Race 2). In fifth place was another Bhaitech driver, the Italian Leonardo Lorandi, who was again regularly fighting among the leaders and now sits on 161 points

• In sixth position is the Russian Artem Petrov (DR Formula), who staged a great recovery during the weekend in Race 3: starting from Grid 9, he finished in 2nd despite being penalised 5 seconds for a jumped start. Tied for points in seventh place – 114 – is the Estonian Juri Vips (Prema Power Team), who did not race at Mugello and the German Lirim Zendeli (BWT Muecke Motorsport). Also tied in 9th place on points are the drivers Ian Rodriguez of Guatemala (DRZ Benelli) and the Indian Kush Maini (Jenzer Motorsport) on 85.

• Three wins from three starts for Lorandi in the Rookie Trophy, who on Saturday after Race 1 mathematically took the title for drivers in their debut year. The battle for second is still wide open however and will be decided during the three races at Monza. Three drivers in with a chance: Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Power Team), second on 257 points, the Argentine Giorgio Carrara (Jenzer Motorsport), third with 227 and the Brasilian for DR Formula, Felipe Branquinho, on 204 points.

• In the Womans Trophy, the German Sophia Flörsch, - BWT Mücke Motorsport – still leads on 200 points.

• In the Team’s standings, Bhaitech just slightly ahead of Prema Power Team: 487 from 433. Also in this case, the title to be decided at Monza. Third position therefore for Jenzer Motorsport, on 300 points, ahead of DR Formula (205) and BWT Muecke Motorsport (144).

• The seventh and final round of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth season will be disputed at 20-21-22 October at the Autodromo di Monza.
