A World CIK/FIA Championship title is the ultimate goal and the highest acknowledgement for every kart driver and Nyck De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla) had put it among his major priorities of the season. On the same circuit of Zuera, where he had already become European KF3 Champion, De Vries conquered an exciting victory on the very last lap of the KF2 final race. The 15-year old Dutch driver fought until the very end and his determination and talent did the rest.

Nyck De Vries and the drivers who entered the World Cup for Super KF had to face dantesque conditions in Japan, on Sunday, May 23. The Suzuka circuit was under a heavy downpour of rain and made the situation more complicated for drivers. Karts suffered in those conditions, too, and Nyck also paid his toll. But the young Dutch kartman never gave up and fought like a lion to climb on the third step of the podium of this world meeting.

Nyck De Vries inaugurated the new WSK World Series with a victory. On the Portimao circuit in Portugal, the Dutch driver grew more and more determined during the meeting, so much so that he brilliantly dominated the final. It was with three and ½ seconds of advance and best lap time in race that De Vries crossed the finish line as winner on his Zanardi-Parilla.
