h. 6:20 pm: In the KZ the best time of the qualifyings is scored by defending European Champion Jorrit Pex (CRG/TM; 47,873 sec.), followed by Max Verstappen (CRG/TM; 47,988 sec.) and Davide Foré (CRG/TM; 47,999 sec.). Tomorrow the KZ drivers will be contending two qualification heats from 11:20 am to 2:50 pm.
In KZ2, after Riccardo Negro (DR/TM) bested everyone in the timed qualifyings, the following names topped the six heats contended, in this order: Felice Tiene (CRG/Maxter), Marco Zanchetta (Maranello/TM), Marijn Kremers (Birel/TM), Riccardo Negro (DR/TM), Simone Brenna (TB Kart/Modena) and again Marco Zanchetta.
The limit of 108 dB (measured with four microphones placed over the finish-line) was subject of polemics amongst drivers and technicians, since it resulted in a significant number of penalties for non-compliance (in KZ2 18 drivers lost between 3 and 6 places depending on their decibel level). In addition, a mistake in the publication of the standings (resulting from the amount of penalties handed out) caused an interruption of several minutes in the afternoon program, resulting in a considerable delay with the day's schedule.
