The first international track meetings of the CIK-FIA in 2011 are scheduled for 28, 29, 30 April and 1st May.
They will see the implementation of the new mode of eligibility for the CIK-FIA European KF2 and KF3 Championships as the system with three regional qualifying events (North, Centre and West) is replaced by two European Trophies, a so-called “Northern” one and a so-called “Southern” one. This new scheme aims at strengthening the Organisers, who will thus be able to count on a larger participation, at increasing the sporting impact of the events and at facilitating the logistic task of the entered Manufacturers and Teams.
The CIK-FIA North European Trophy will take place on the PF International circuit at Brandon, in Great Britain. It will be the meeting point for British, Irish, Polish, Czech and Slovakian Drivers as well as for those from Benelux, Scandinavia, Russia, the Baltic countries and those from out of Europe. As for the CIK-FIA South European Trophy, it will be held at Varennes-sur-Allier in France, and will concern all other European nations.
Both Trophies will continue to determine the 180 Drivers (90 per category) called upon to compete in the European Championship itself, scheduled for 21-24 July at Zuera in Spain. The number of qualified Drivers per Trophy will be calculated in proportion to the entries recorded for each Trophy. This number is bound to exceed the 34 Drivers who will reach the final in each Trophy. Both events will therefore include in their schedule for the Sunday afternoon a “B” final phase composed of a Race 1 and of a Race 2 for those Drivers classified between 35th and 68th after the qualifying heats. The added classifications of these Races 1 and 2 will designate the extra Drivers authorised to enter the big European final to be organised in July.
As a reminder, all participants will receive free of charge their racing tyres (of medium compound in KF2, hard in KF3), supplied by Vega. In KF3, single-suppliers of carburettors (Tillotson) and exhausts (Elto) have been designated and propose their products at very attractive prices (69€ per carburettor, 85€ per exhaust with the additional silencer).
Entries for these CIK-FIA North and South European KF2 and KF3 Trophies are on-line on www.cikfia.com (http://www.cikfia.com/web/karting/webkarting.nsf/entryforms?openview). The closing of entries is announced for Wednesday 23 March 2011. In 2010, a total of 391 entries had been validated.

POUR LES TROPHÉES D’EUROPE NORD ET SUD DE LA CIK-FIA
Les premiers rendez-vous internationaux en piste de la CIK-FIA sont prévus pour les 28, 29, 30 avril et 1er mai prochains. Ils verront la mise en application du nouveau régime d’accession aux Championnats d’Europe CIK-FIA des catégories KF2 et KF3. En effet, le système des trois épreuves qualificatives régionales (Nord, Centre, Ouest) est remplacé par deux Trophées d’Europe, l’un dit du «Nord», l’autre du «Sud». Ce nouveau schéma vise à renforcer les Organisateurs, qui pourront ainsi compter sur une participation plus soutenue, à augmenter l’impact sportif des épreuves et à faciliter la tâche logistique des Constructeurs et Équipes engagés.
Le Trophée d’Europe du Nord de la CIK-FIA aura lieu sur le circuit PF International, à Brandon, en Grande-Bretagne. Il sera le point de rendez-vous des Pilotes britanniques, irlandais, polonais, tchèques, slovaques, du Bénélux, de Scandinavie, de Russie, des pays baltes et des Pilotes extra-européens. Les deux Trophées continueront de déterminer les 180 Pilotes (90 par catégorie) appelés à disputer le Championnat d’Europe proprement dit, prévu les 21-24 juillet prochains à Zuera, en Espagne. Le nombre de Pilotes qualifiés par Trophée sera calculé au prorata des inscriptions enregistrées pour chacun d’eux. Ce nombre dépassera inévitablement les 34 Pilotes qui atteindront la finale de chacun des Trophées. Aussi chacune des deux épreuves inclura-t-elle dans son programme du dimanche après-midi une phase finale «B», composée d’une Course 1 et d’une Course 2, pour les Pilotes classés entre le 35e et 68e places au sortir des manches qualificatives. Le classement cumulé de ces Courses 1 et 2 désignera le complément de Pilotes autorisés à s’inscrire à la grande finale européenne de juillet.
Pour rappel, tous les participants recevront gratuitement leurs pneus de course (de type medium en KF2, dur en KF3), fournis par Vega. En KF3, des fournisseurs uniques de carburateurs (Tillotson) et d’échappements (Elto) ont été désignés et proposent leurs produits à des tarifs très avantageux (69€ le carburateur, 85€ l’échappement avec silencieux additionnel).
