Gregory Heirman, Winner of the 2010 CIK-FIA Award for the best photograph
Already winner of the Photo Award in 2009, Gregory Heirman has the
pleasure to announce he has manager to maintain his ?title? in 2010.
The votación was made at the occasion of the annual CIK-FIA awards
ceremonia, that took place on Saturday 15 January 2011 in Paris, at
the Pavillon Gabriel located near the FIA?s headquarters next to the
famous Champs Elysées. The ceremonia was hailed by the FIA President,
Jean Todt, and by the CIK-FIA President, Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al
Khalifa. The theme of the competition was "Karting is pure close
racing".
You will find attached the winning picture. The shot was taken at
start of the final of the World Championship. The guy on the grass is
the Dutch driver Nyck De Vries. Nearly out of the race in the first
corner, he managed to go back on the track. In the very last lap, he
made a massive overtaking to take the title. He is 15 years old and
already on contract with McLaren.
