Formidabile affermazione in KZ1 del nostro Tony Kart Racing Team nelle due gare d’apertura della WSK Euro Series a Sarno.Sul Circuito Internazionale Napoli Rick Dreezen mette a segno una netta doppietta.
Il doppio successo è impreziosito dalla pole position e dal primo e secondo ottenuto in gara-1, con Marco Ardigò secondo.
-Sotto la pioggia battente che ha caratterizzato il primo round WSK Euro i Tony Kart hanno primeggiato anche nella 60 Mini con Sargeant e Lorandi, rispettivamente secondo e terzo. In KF2 è stato il russo Rudakov a salire sul secondo gradino del podio ed in KF3 un altro russo, Sitnikov, ha portato il Racer EVRR-Vortex sul podio, con il terzo posto.
-I telai Tony Kart sono stati protagonisti anche nella categorie in cui non siamo presenti ufficialmente. In KF3 hanno brillato Sitnikov e Sargeant. Nella Mini sono saliti sul podio Logan Sargeant e Leonardo Lorandi.
KZ1 – Il primo weekend dell’Euro Series si è aperto con un bel segnale, forte e chiaro, del nostro Rick Dreezen, artefice di una formidabile pole postion. Dreezen ha siglato, con la pista bagnata, il tempo 1:25.168, staccando il primo degli avversari, Hanssen di 469 decimi.
Nelle due manche che portano alla prima finale, quella che si disputa il sabato, Dreezen è stato molto cosante ed ha ottenuto un quarto ed un quinto posto e Marco Ardigò si è piazzato in entrambe le gare in decima posizione. Così Dreezen è partito dalla prima fila ed Ardigò dalla terza.
Al verde Dreezen è riuscito a prendere rapidamente la testa della corsa ed Ardigò non ha impiegato molto per raggiungere la seconda posizione. I dodici giri della finale breve si sono così trasformati in una cavalcata solitaria per i nostri piloti. I Tony Kart-Vortex di Rick Dreezen e Marco Ardigò hanno concluso nell’ordine, staccando nettamente tutti gli inseguitori.
Dreezen sulla pista bagnata ha segnato, ancora una volta, un giro record, con 1.22.573.
Il percorso che ha portato alla finalissima della domenica è stato sempre contraddistinto dalla pista bagnata ed i nostri mezzi si sono comportati perfettamente, permettendo ad Ardigò e Dreezen di partire, rispettivamente, dalla prima e dalla seconda fila.
Al verde mentre Dreezen è volato al comando grazie ad una partenza impeccabile, Ardigò è stato coinvolto in un contatto, perdendo tutte le chance di vittoria.
Dreezen si è difeso al settimo giro da un attacco dell’inglese Hanley, immediatamente respinto dal nostro portacolori. Sul finale di gara a condurre un tenace pressing sul nostro pilota è stato Lammers.
Dreezen è stato perfetto, ha guidato il suo Racer EVRR sul filo del rasoio per tutta la gara e non sbagliato niente, nonostante la pressione dell’avversario. Lammers a pochi metri dal traguardo ha tentato un sorpasso, risoltosi con un contatto che ha mandato in testa-coda entrambi. I due sono ripartiti prontamente, ma a posizioni invertite, con Lammers primo. Quest’ultimo ha ritenuto opportuno, per non incorrere in eventuali e possibili penalizzazioni, di lasciare nuovamente la prima posizione a Dreezen. Il nostro pilota ha così, con pieno merito, vinto la seconda gara del week-end, conquistando punteggio pieno nella classifica dell’Euro Series.
Marco Ardigò, nonostante il difficile avvio di gara, non si è demoralizzato ed ha compiuto una tenace rimonta, conquistando il dodicesimo posto.
KF2 – La pista bagnata ha certamente complicato la situazione. Nelle qualifiche si sono messi in evidenza Kasai Takashi, al debutto stagionale, e Damiano Fioravanti, entrati entrambi nella super pole. Takashi ha segnato il quinto tempo e Fioravanti l’ottavo.
Nelle bagnatissime manche Fioravanti ha ottenuto ottime prestazioni, chiudendo due volte in seconda posizione, e conquistando la seconda fila in pre-finale.
Camponeschi, Petjoi e Mac Leod hanno rimediato ad una sfortunata qualifica recuperando un gran numero di posizioni, entrando in finale senza problemi.
In pre-finale Samuel Mac Leod ha dato vita ad una decisa rimonta che lo ha portato in settima fila in griglia, grazie a diciannove sorpassi compiuti sul bagnato.
Ottima è stata anche la rimonta dei piloti russi Rudakov e Korolevskiy, del team Komarov, risaliti nelle primissime posizioni dopo essere scattati dal fondo dello schieramento.
In finale è stato proprio Rudakov a completare una formidabile rimonta che lo ha condotto direttamente sul podio, con il secondo posto.
Mac Leod è stato artefice di una gara positiva, conclusa in decima posizione, che poteva essere ancora più brillante se il nostro pilota non fosse rimasto coinvolto in un incidente nelle prime battute di gara.
Anche Takashi è risalito dal fondo dello schieramento, dopo il ritiro in pre-finale, ed ha ottenuto la dodicesima posizione.
KF3 – Nikita Sitnikov è salito sul podio della KF3, categoria in cui non siamo presenti in forma ufficiale. Il pilota del team partner Rudakov è giunto sul podio conducendo un ottimo fine settimana, concludendo le manche sempre nelle prime tre posizioni ed aggiudicandosi la pre-fnale B.
Sempre nella categoria cadetta, è stato ancora una volta un pilota al volante di un Tony Kart-Vortex, lo statunitense Dalton Sargeant, del Ward Racing, a siglare la pole position. Sargeant ha lottato per un posto sul podio in finale ed ha concluso al quinto posto.
60 Mini – I telai Tony Kart hanno affollato le primissime posizioni ed al termine della finale, lo statunitense Sargeant Logan (Ward Racing) e l’italiano Leonardo Lorandi hanno conquistato, rispettivamnente, il secondo ed il terzo posto.
Va annotato come nelle prime dieci posizioni della finale vi fossero ben cinque telai Tony Kart ROCKY EXP.

Rick Dreezen – Vincitore gara-1 e gara-2 Tony Kart Racing Team
“Sono certamente contento per il risultato ottenuto, ma non mi ritengo soddisfatto della vittoria in gara-2 per un motive semplice. Nella gara del sabato ero pienamente in sintonia con il mio mezzo, domenica non sentivo in pieno quel feeling.
Questo mi ha costretto a non tirare al massimo in finale 2, anche se devo dire che ho tenuto un buon ritmo di gara ed ho risposto ad Hanley senza grandi problemi.
I punti conquistati oggi saranno utili per il resto del campionato, ma è troppo presto per fare dei conti, ci sono ben sei gare da disputare. Penso soltanto a fare un buon lavoro assieme al team a Val D’Argenton.
Ringrazio tutti i ragazzi della squadra per come hanno lavorato ancora una volta.”
Dell’episodio con Lammers all’ultimo giro cosa dici? Ti ha urtato mandandoti in testa-coda all’ultimo giro e poi ti ha fatto passare, probabilmente, temendo una penalizzazione.
“E’ stato un confronto deciso, io ero più veloce nel terzo settore del circuito, lui in quello centrale ed al termine di quel settore, in extremis, ha tentato il sorpasso. Con la pista allagata ne è scaturito un contatto. Queste cose, in queste situazioni, possono accadere….. fanno parte del gioco.
Lui è stato corretto ed intelligente a capire subito la situazione, lasciandomi lo spazio per entrare nuovamente. Gli faccio i miei complimenti per la gara che ha fatto e per la lucidità che ha avuto nell’interpretare la situazione. E’ un rivale di alto livello ed è uno tra i piloti più accreditati nella corsa al successo nella WSK Euro.
Se non ci fosse stato il contatto, lo hanno visto tutti, avrei vinto comunque.”

“Al via di gara-2 sono partito con una piccolo indecisione e questa mi è costata molto cara. Mi hanno girato alla prima curva, costringendomi a ripartire ultimo. Stavo rimontando in modo ottimo ma, nella bagarre di centro gruppo, con la pista allagata, è facile incappare in spinte e contatti e….. mi hanno mandato una seconda volta in testa-coda.
Ho rimediato entrando in zona punti, ma con il passo che avevo potevo stare nelle prime posizioni, mi dispiace anche perché ho fatto sempre delle ottime partenze ed è andata così proprio in finale.
Sono comunque ottimista perché il materiale di cui disponiamo è di alto livello ed il team sempre all’altezza di ogni situazione.”

DOUBLE DECLUTCH IN KZ1 CATEGORY WITH DREEZEN ON THE OCCASION OF THE WSK EURO SERIES’ FIRST ROUND
-Excellent success in KZ1 category for our Tony Kart Racing Team in the two opening rounds of the WSK Euro Series in Sarno.
At the Naples International Circuit Rick Dreezen signs a clear double win. Furthermore it has been enriched with the pole position and with the firs position and with the second one obtained in race-1 by Marco Ardigò.
-Under the pouring rain during the WSK first round the Tony Kart chassis lead in the 60 Mini category, too, with Sargeant and Lorandi, second and third position respectively. In KF2 category the second step of the podium was conquered by the Russian Rudakov and in KF3 category one more Russian driver, Sitnikov, straightly took his Racer EVRR-Vortex on the podium, signing the third place.
KZ1 – The first Euro Series’ weekend opened with a very good result of our driver Rick Dreezen who was able to gain the pole position. Dreezen signed, on a wet track a timing of 1:25.168, thus obtaining a gap over his closest rival, Hanssen of 469 tenths.
In the two heats that lead to the first final, on Saturday, Dreezen drove well determined and was able to sign a fourth and a fifth position, moreover Marco Ardigò could obtain a tenth position in both races. So, Dreezen started from the first row and Ardigò from the third.
At the green light Dreezen took the leading position and also Ardigò soon took the second position. The twelve rounds of the short final became this way quite a solitaire race for our drivers. The Tony Kart-Vortex chassis run by Rick Dreezen and Marco Ardigò got the first and second position respectively, quite far from all other competitors. Dreezen on the wet track was once more able to perform the best-lap time with 1.22.573. The rounds until before the very final on Sundays have always been run on the wet track, allowing Ardigò and Dreezen to start from the first and the second row, respectively. At the starting grid, while Dreezen took the leading position thanks to a very perfect start, Ardigò was involved in a slight collision, making him lose any chance of win. Dreezen defended himself at the seventh round during the fight against the English driver Hanley, who has been immediately repulsed. Quite at the end of the round also Lammer began a battle with our driver. Dreezen ran perfectly his Racer EVRR chassis but was constantly threatened during thw whole race and did not make any mistake, nevertheless the pressure of his rival. Lammers once close to the arrival tried to overtake but got in collision and both chassis skidded right round. They soon restarted but with Lammers first. But he decided, because of possible penalties for the unfair driving manoeuvre, to leave the first position to Dreezen. Our driver could this way win the second round of the week-end, deservedly, conquering a good score for the Euro Series classification. Marco Ardigò, despite the quite hard start, was able to recover and to gain the twelfth position.
KF2 – The wet track made all things more difficult. In the qualifying heats at his début of the season Kasai Takashi showed off and together with Damiano Fioravanti they both reached the super pole. Takashi took the fifth and Fioravanti the eight position.
In the very wet heats Fioravanti made very good performances, ending up twice with a second position and conquering the second row in the pre-final.
Camponeschi, Petjoi and Mac Leod were able to recover from an unlucky qualifying heat and could enter in the final without any concern. In the pre-final Samuel Mac Leod gained the seventh row at the starting grid, thanks to nineteenth overtakes all made on the wet circuit. Very good recovery also for the Russian drivers Rudakov and Korolevskiy of the partner team Komarov, who from the bottom of the entire group of drivers took the very first positions. In the final race Rudakov performed a very good recovery who took him directly to the podium, in the second position. Mac Leod obtained good results and ended up tenth, he could have done even better if he was not involved in an accident during the very first minutes of the race. Takashi too, recovered from the bottom, after the withdrawal in the pre-final and obtained the twelfth position.
KF3 – Nikita Sitnikov got on the podium of KF3 category where we have no official driver attending the competition. Our partner team’s driver Rudako got on the podium at the end of a positive weekend, ending up all heats in the three first positions and winning the pre-final B. In the cadet class too once more a Tony Kart-Vortex driver signed the pole position, it was the US Dalton Sargeant running with the Ward Racing. He fought for taking one step on the podium in the final and ended fifth.
60 Mini – Tony Kart chassis crowded the very first position at the end of the final, the American Sargeant Logan (Ward Racing) and the Italian Leonardo Lorandi got the second and the third position, respectively. Rick Dreezen – Winner of race-1 and race-2 Tony Kart Racing Team
“I am very satisfied with the result obtained but I feel not completely satisfied with the win in race-2 instead for a simple reason. During the race of Saturday I got a good feeling with the chassis, on Sunday I was not so much. This prevent me to do my best on Sunday in the final-2 even though I have to say I drove with a good synergy and I was able to face Hanley without any problems.
The scores I got today will be useful for the rest of the Championship but it is too early to any calculation, we have still six races. I just think to be well concentrated in the work I’m doing together with my team for the next race in Val D’Argenton.
I wish to thank all the guys of the team for the work they’ve done once again.”
What do you think of what occurred with Lammers during the last round? He bumped into you and skidded you right-round on last round then he let you go, probably, since he was afraid of a penalty.
“It was a hard fight, I was faster in the third sector of the circuit while he was faster in the central and at the end only he tried to overtake. Due to the flooded track the collision occurred. In such conditions these things may arrive… it is a part of the game. He was fair and intelligent and soon understood the situation, leaving me the space to enter again. I congratulate with him for the race he did and for the clearness of mind in the management of the situation. He is a high-level rival and he’s one amongst the most important drivers running for the win of the WSK Euro. If there was no collision, I could have been able to win anyway.”

“At the beginning of race-2 I started with a little hesitation and this cost me a lot. I was bumped into on the first bend and I was thus forces to start from the bottom. I was recovering very well but in the fight of the middle group, due to the flooded track it was easy to get in few collisions and… once again I was skidded right-round. I recovered some scores but I could have even stayed in the first positions, I am sorry because I always did very good starts and right in the final I was so unlucky. However I am still positive since the material I have at my disposal is high-level and the team is always up to the task of any situation.”
