Christian Brooks wins the 2012 Gatorz Challenge of the Americas Mini Max title in style., winning 4 out of 6 races.

With 2012 seemingly just getting underway the 2011 Mini-Max national champion Christian Brooks is off to a strong start, scooping up his first championship of the year. Brooks, aboard his BRK sponsored Energy kart dominated the Mini Max competition at this year's Gatorz Challenge of the Americas, winning 4 out of 6 events and finishing outside the top five only once. Brook's championship earned his a paid entry into the the USA Rotax Grand Nationals where he will defend his title August 7th - 11th, 2012 in South Bend, IN at Michiana Raceway Park.

"I would like to thank Andy and everyone that help put on the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas championship series. It was fun, exciting, professional and competitive. I look forward to competing in the 2012 United States Rotax Grand Nationals and defending my title as 2011 Mini-Max national champion," said an excited Christian Brooks still clutching his ticket to the nationals. “The BRK team was awesome, and the Energy kart never let me down. It is a dream come true to have an Indy 500 winner as your driver coach. Buddy and the team have taught me so much, I'm glad I could win a championship for them.”

“Christian has done a fantastic job this year” said BRK director sportif Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice. “Ever since joining the team he has earned the results. We are glad to have him as part of the BRK Energy program and I expect him to do well for the rest of 2012.”

Christian Brooks Tuscon recap:
Leading the charge for BRK Energy was reigning Rotax US National Champion Christian Brooks. Brooks put the hurt on the Mini Max field from the drop of the first green flag. Saturday's qualifying session saw Brooks gap the field by nearly 8 tenths on his way to the prefinal win. Brooks went out hard for the first few laps of the final, gaining a healthy advantage over the field before kicking it into cruise mode for his first victory of the 2012 season. Sunday was a near repeat with Brooks again completing the sweep with a dominating fashion.

Christian Brooks Phoenix recap:
Phoenix proved to be a challenge for Brooks, if you can call 6th and a 5th a challenge. After Brook's commanding performance from Tuscon a 2nd and 3rd place in qualifying was very disappointing for the young driver. Both days he ran solidly in the top five but was just a few tenths off to challenge for the win.

Christian Brooks CalSpeed recap:
While much attention was paid to the championships, there is no denying that the BRK Energy driver Brooks had the home track dialed in. Saturday started off well for team BRK with Brooks sweeping the Mini-Max class. With a pole, the heat race win, and ultimately the victory in the final Brooks was untouchable. After qualifying P2, Brooks overcame a few challenges in Sunday's final. A problem in the prefinal saw Brooks start the main event from deep in the pack. It was barely a bump in the road as Brooks quickly found his way back to the lead. Race officials docked Brooks 3 seconds for an infraction on the start, but fortunately he held the gas down for all 18 laps and had a large enough buffer over 2nd place to still take the win.
