A CASTELLETTO DI BRANDUZZO LENNOX CONQUISTA IL PODIO E IL TITOLO NELLA KZ2. IN KZ1 DOMINANO PEX E FEDERER. IN KF2 TIENE E JOYNER SI CONFERMANO PROTAGONISTI DELLA CATEGORIA. IN KF3 BENE DE MELO AL DEBUTTO NELLA WSK, PALOU CHIUDE SESTO IN CAMPIONATO.
Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia). Chiusura in bellezza per la CRG nella WSK Master Series nella terza e ultima prova di campionato disputata sulla Pista 7 Laghi di Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia), con un bottino finale di 4 trofei fra le categorie KZ1, KZ2 e KF2 e soprattutto il titolo in KZ2 con Jordon Lennox-Lamb, per un ulteriore riconoscimento alla performance del telaio CRG e del motore Maxter.
Il successo dell’atto finale di questo appuntamento della WSK è stato sancito appunto anche da una spettacolare doppietta in KZ1 con il successo dell’olandese Jorrit Pex e del secondo posto di Fabian Federer,oltre al podio di Felice Tiene in KF2 che gli ha valso il secondo posto in campionato con il telaio CRG motorizzato Bmb by KVS.
Di rilievo anche la prestazione in KF3, fatta segnare questa volta dal canadese Zachary Claman De Melo, che staimparando in fretta anche nella combattutissima KF3 europea dopo essersi distino nella Rotax del Nord-America, tanto che a Castelletto il nuovo giovane pilota della CRG ha conquistato un eccellente nono posto alla sua prima esperienza nel WSK.
IN KZ2 IL TITOLO E’ DI LENNOX. In KZ2, nonostante l’agguerrita concorrenza, il titolo non è sfuggito alla CRG che aveva concentrato su Lennox tutte le risorse per centrare il successo nella categoria. E il pilota inglese ha ripagato nel migliore dei modi la fiducia della casa italiana, rivelandosi subito protagonista al suo esordio alla guida del kart con le marce, concretizzando in questa terza prova di campionato la vittoria del titolo con un secondo posto nella prima Finale di sabato e un terzo posto nella seconda Finale di domenica. In classifica Lennox ha chiuso al primo posto con un vantaggio di 32 punti su Midrla e 38 punti su Celenta.
IN KZ1 DOPPIETTA CRG. In KZ1, dopo il successo di Fabian Federer su CRG-Maxter nella prima Finale di sabato conquistato davanti al compagno di colori l’olandese Jorrit Pex su CRG-Tm di CRG Holland, nella seconda Finale di domenica è stato quest’ultimo a prendersi la maggiore soddisfazione precedendo sul traguardo Federer con un’altra schiacciante doppietta vincente. In classifica finale Pex ha potuto quindi guadagnare la seconda posizione alle spalle del vincitore del titolo Ardigò, mentre Federer è risalito fino al sesto posto conclusivo.
IN KF2 TIENE VICECAMPIONE, JOYNER TERZO. In KF2 Felice Tiene, con il telaio CRG e il motore Bmb preparato da KVS, si è confermato fra i più veloci in assoluto guadagnando il titolo di vicecampione della categoria con ottime prospettive per questa stagione internazionale. Nel weekend di Castelletto il pilota della CRG ha ottenuto due ottimi terzi posti sia in Prefinale che in Finale, rivelandosi fra i maggiori protagonisti anche in quest’ultimo weekend di gare della WSK Master Series. L’inglese Tom Joyner, con il telaio LH by Lewis Hamilton del team Italsport, ha potuto confermarsi al terzo posto in classifica nonostante sia stato fermato da un incidente proprio in Finale. Anche per Joyner si aprono ora ottime prospettive per i prossimi campionati internazionali. Luke Varley non ha avuto invece la soddisfazione di rientrare nella fase finale per alcuni incidenti.
IN KF3 IN EVIDENZA DE MELO. In KF3 questa volta è Zachary Claman De Melo a prendersi belle soddisfazioni in casa CRG. Il giovane pilota canadese, assistito dal pluricampione del mondo Mike Wilson e alla sua prima partecipazione alla WSK, nella Finale di Castelletto con il suo CRG-Bmb è riuscito ad inserirsi fra i migliori cogliendo un ottimo 9. posto in Finale. Molto bene è andato anche l’altro pilota CRG, lo spagnolo Alex Palou, che avrebbe potuto puntare al podio dopo il suo terzo posto in Prefinale se non fosse incappato in una brutta partenza in Finale. Alla fine Palou in Finale ha concluso all’11. posto, piazzandosi sesto in Campionato.
NELLA MINI BENE MAZZOLA E MARTINEZ. Nella 60 Mini il giovanissimo Pietro Mazzola su CRG/Hero si è piazzato al secondo posto sul podio di Castelletto alle spalle di Lorandi. Mazzola ha così conquistato la seconda posizione in campionato davanti all’altro giovane impegnato con il telaio CRG/Hero, lo spagnolo Eliseo Martinez Merono.
LE INTERVISTE. Giancarlo Tinini, presidente della CRG: “Questa WSK Master Series si è rivelata un bel campionato, tirato fino alla fine e ricco di emozioni. Doveva essere uncampionato minore, di preparazione alla stagione internazionale, invece si è presentato subito ad un livello molto alto. Forse fin troppo alto, perché secondo la mia opinione questa serie magari potrebbe riguardare soprattutto i team privati e i nostri team satelliti piuttosto che le case ufficiali. I risultati per noi sono stati buoni, abbiamo anche incontrato bel tempo, quindi c’è stato modo di fare una preparazione adeguata. Abbiamo conquistato il titolo KZ2 con Lennox e in generale in KZ abbiamo avuto buoni riscontri. Siamo soddisfattianche per la KF2, dove dobbiamo però migliorare ancora qualcosa. Non è maleanche la KF3, ma qui abbiamo avuto un po’ di sfortuna in alcune situazioni, però penso che a livello di mezzi ci manchi poco per tornare ad essere molto competitivi anche in questa categoria. Adesso ci concentreremo sulla WSK Euro Series, dove cercheremo di fare come al solito il nostro meglio.”
Euan Jeffery, team manager CRG: “Questo ultimo weekend della WSK Master Series è stato per noi molto positivo. Abbiamo conquistato il titolo in KZ2 con Lennox e il secondo posto in KF2 con Tiene, con ottimi risultati in KZ1 conFederer. Molto produttivo anche il riscontro che abbiamo avuto con i motoriMaxter. Bene anche Joyner in KF2, così come Varley, anche se non hanno potuto concretizzare un buon risultato per incidenti. In KF3 è stato molto positivo De Melo, alla sua prima esperienza in una gara importante come la WSK, e Palou che si è fatto notare anche in questa occasione con belle prestazioni.”
Jordon Lennox-Lamb (KZ2): “Sono molto contento per il titolo conquistato in KZ2. A parte la penalità per partenza che mi è stata data nella prima gara di Muro Leccese, sono sempre arrivato nelle prime tre posizioni, con due vittorie. La costanza dei risultati è stata una buona cosa, e il materiale CRG e Maxter
è stato molto affidabile. Sono molto contento anche per aver vinto il campionato con il motore preparato direttamente dalla casa, una soddisfazione in più per il gruppo CRG. Voglioringraziare tutta la squadra, perché tutti hanno lavorato bene per me mettendomi nelle migliori condizioni per vincere il campionato.”
Felice Tiene (KF2): “In campionato sono arrivato secondo, e credo sia un bel risultato perché sono stato sempre molto competitivo. Purtroppo il problema tecnico che ho accusato a Sarno a 100 metri dal traguardo mi ha compromesso la possibilità di lottare per il titolo. Qui a Castelletto andavamo forte, ma per vincere ci è mancato qualcosa nella migliore sistemazione del set-up del telaio. Non siamo riusciti a metterlo a punto al 100%, però alla fine sono andato a podio e non è andata male. Telaio e motore, quando sono a posto, vanno fortissimo. Ora ci aspetta l’impegno nella WSK Euro Series, e noi prossimi giorni ci concentreremo per affrontare al meglio questo impegno internazionale.”
Fabian Federer (KZ1): “Sono contento per come sono stato competitivo per tutto il weekend e per la mia vittoria nella prima Finale di sabato, ma nella seconda Finale di domenica sono stato costretto a partire dalla seconda fila per un problema di resa dei pneumatici in una manche. In gara mi sono comunque piazzato al secondo posto, e sono soddisfatto.”

Castelletto di Branduzzo Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia-Italy). The WSK Master Series ends well for CRG. In thethird and last round of the series, on the 7 Laghi Circuit of Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia), CRG wins four trophies in the KZ1, KZ2 and KF2 categories; particularly remarkable the KZ2 title achieved by Jordon-Lennox Lamb, a further example of how performing the CRG chassis and the Maxter engine can be.
The success in this final event of this WSK Series was sealed also by the awesome first and second place in KZ1 achieved by the Dutch Jorrit Pex and the Italian Fabian Federer, besides the podium obtained by Felice Tiene in KF2, which heaved him and his CRG chassis powered by Bmb by KVS on the second step of the championship podium.
Also the performance in KF3 was outstanding, thanks to the Canadian Zachary Claman De Melo, who is learning fast how to handle the tough European KF3, after making himself conspicuous in the North American Rotax. Here in Castelletto, the new and young CRG driver finished with an excellent ninth place at his first experience in the WSK.
IN KZ2 LENNOX WINS THE TITLE. In KZ2, despite the tough competition, CRG did not miss the title. The Italian factory had concentrated all its resources to win the title on Lennox in this category. And the English driver paid back CRG's confidence: he was immediately among the protagonists at his debut behind the wheel of a kart in the gearbox category and made the best of his performance in this third round of the championship. He placed second in the first final on Saturday and third in the second final on Sunday. The ranking closed with Lennox first with a 32 point lead over Midrla and 38 on Celenta.
IN KZ1 CRG DOUBLES. In KZ1, after Fabian Federer's success on CRG-Maxter in the first final on Saturday - where he preceded his mate, the Dutch Jorrit Pex on CRG-Tm by CRG Holland-, in the second final on Sunday it was Pex who preceded Federer on the finishing line, achieving another outstanding first and second place. In the final ranking, Pex was the runner-up behind the winner Ardigò, while Federer managed toclimb up the ranking until his final sixth position.
IN KF2 TIENE IS THE RUNNER-UP, JOYNER THIRD. In KF2 Felice Tiene, on a CRG chassis powered by a Bmb engine prepared by KVS, confirmed to be among the overall fastest, gaining the runner-up position of the category. After this result there are great expectations for this international season. The CRG driver during this weekend got two excellent third places both in the pre-final and in the final: he was one of the leading actors of this last WSK Master Series racing weekend. The English Tom Joyner, on a LH chassis by Lewis Hamilton of the Italsport team, was able to confirm his third place in the ranking despite he was stopped by an accident right in the final. For Joyner too there are now great chances for the next international championships. Luke Varley, on the other hand, could not enter the final phase because of some accidents.
IN IN KF3 DE MELO STANDS OUT. In KF3 Zachary Claman De Melo brought great satisfaction to CRG. The young Canadian driver, assisted by Mike Wilson - who won the world championship more than once -, was at his first participation in the WSK. In the final of Castelletto, on his CRG-Bmb, he managed to be among the best achieving an excellent ninth place. The Spanish Alex Palou, the other CRG driver, behaved well too. He could have aimed for the podium after his third place in the final, but unfortunately he had a bad start in the final and had to be content with a 11th place, arriving sixth in the championship.
IN THE MINI MAZZOLA MARTINEZ PERFORM WELL. In the 60 Mini the young Pietro Mazzola on CRG/Hero placed second on the podium of Castelletto behind Lorandi. So Mazzola was the runner-up of the championship, preceding the other young driver on a CRG/Hero chassis, the Spanish EliseoMartinez Merono.
THE INTERVIEWS. Giancarlo Tinini, CRG Chairman: "This WSK Master Series was an excellent championship, fought until the end and really exciting. It was supposed to be a minor championship, a sort of training before the international season. It had, instead, great quality: maybe even too much because, in my opinion, this series should concern only the private teams, our satellite teams and not the official teams. Results weregood for us, and we had fine weather too: this conditions allowed us to prepare properly. We won the title in KZ2 with Lennox and, generally speaking, in KZ we had good results. We are satisfied also for what we got in KF2, where anyway we still have to improve something. Not bad in KF3 too, but here we were a bitunlucky in several situations. Anyway, from the point of view of our equipment we just need a little improvement to be very competitive in this category too. Now we are focusing for the WSK Euro Series, where - as usual - we'll try to do our best.”
Euan Jeffery, CRG team manager: “This last weekend of the WSK Master Series was very positive for us. We won the title in KZ2 with Lennox and Tiene was the runner-up in KF2. Federer performed very well in KZ1 and, generally speaking, we got good results with the Maxter engines. Also Joyner did well in KF2, as well as Varley did: unfortunately they did not manage to get what they deserved because of several accidents. In KF3 De Melo was very positive: he was at his first experience in an important race such as the WSK. Also Palou's performance was positive and he stood out in this occasion too.”
Jordon Lennox-Lamb (KZ2): “I'm really glad for the KZ2 title. Apart from the penalty I got for the start in the race of Muro Leccese, I always arrived in the first three positions, with two wins. The continuity of good results and the reliability of the CRG andMaxter equipment were good things. I'm very happy for my victory
in the championship with the engine directly prepared by the factory: another reason to be satisfied of for CRG Group. Iwant to say thank you to all the team, because everybody did a great job and put me in the best conditions to win the championship."
Felice Tiene (KF2): “I'm the runner-up of the championship and I think this is a great result because I was always very competitive. Unfortunately, a technical failure in Sarno, with only 100 metres to go, prevented me from fighting for the title. Here, in Castelletto, we ran fast, but we lacked something in the setup of the chassis to aim for victory. We did not manage to make it 100% performing, but eventually I managed to step onto the podium and it didn't go this bad. Chassis and engine, when they are perfectly set up, go really fast. Now we are going to participate in the WSK Euro Series, and in the next few days we are going to focus on this demanding international event."
Fabian Federer (KZ1): “I'm glad because I was competitive throughout the weekend and because I won the first final on Saturday; but in the second final, on Sunday, I was obliged to start from the second row because my tyres did not perform as expected in one of the heats. Anyway, I managed to arrive second in the race and I feel satisfied."
