For its second year of existence, the Indonesian team Sean GP has decided to increase its members and has now 4 international drivers in KF2, supported by experienced technicians, in addition to announcing a solid racing programme at European and international level. After an excellent group performance at the Indonesia Kart Prix in January, the team has now started a busy European campaign.
Thanks to some solid partnerships, Sean GP has the means to pursue its ambitions. Managed by Riccardo Gelael, an important entrepreneur in his country, the team can indeed rely on the support of KFC Indonesia, Indo Food and Pepsi Cola whose slogan «Yes you can» is particularly well suited to kart races. But this discipline is not Sean GP’s only goal: the gateway to single-seaters is already being prepared with several tests.
The team has been built around young Indonesian hopeful Sean Gelael, who quickly fitted into European competitions in 2011 thanks to his stunning progression. Of a friendly and open temperament, he has established friendly relations with the experienced drivers who have joined him within Sean GP. The Danish driver Nicolaj Moller Madsen, European Champion in 2010, the Italian Antonio Giovinazzi, 3rd at the 2011 World Cup, and the Belgian Sami Luka, European reigning champion, now accompany Sean in his quest for victory.
Sean GP has engaged the best European technicians, including Renato Merlin, a leading figure in karting for two decades. The material used comes from the Tony Kart factory, one of the best chassis manufacturers in Italy. For this start of year, motorisation is ensured by TM or Vortex engines.
The Sean GP structure conveys a strong sense of professionalism, with special attention paid to the tiniest detail. Here, nothing is left to chance and organisation is not an empty word. Nonetheless, there is a joyful and friendly atmosphere, and this renders Sean GP a team which is different from all the others.
The 2012 season started with a fantastic triple success by Giovinazzi, Moller Madsen, and Luka in the lands of the team, at the Indonesia Kart Prix held in Sentul, in late January. Sean GP has now moved to Italy for the beginning of its European campaign.
The WSK Master Series and the famous Margutti Trophy allow drivers and technicians to fine tune their potential in preparation for future important meetings. This goal is moving within closer reach, since Sami Luka climbed onto the Margutti podium at Lonato.
The programme will continue with the famous WSK Euro Series and its 4 rounds, the Asia-Pacific Championship at Suzuka, the two European Championship meetings (in Germany and UK), and the CIK-FIA World Cup held in Spain at the end of September. Integrated by several training sessions, both with karts and single-seaters, 2012 will end with an extraordinary race, the Las Vegas Supernationals, in November.

Pour sa seconde année d’existence, le team indonésien Sean GP renforce son effectif
avec maintenant 4 pilotes internationaux en KF2 entourés de techniciens réputés et
annonce un solide programme en compétition européenne et mondiale. Après le succès
groupé en janvier à l’Indonesia Kart Prix, l’équipe entame maintenant une campagne
européenne bien chargée.
Grâce à de solides partenaires, Sean GP dispose des moyens de ses ambitions. Dirigée par Riccardo Gelael, important entrepreneur dans son pays, l’équipe bénéficie en effet du soutien de KFC Indonesia, Indo Food et Pepsi Cola dont le slogan « Yes you can » est particulièrement bien adapté à la compétition karting. Mais cette discipline n’est pas l’unique objectif de Sean GP: une passerelle vers la monoplace est d’ores et déjà mise en place à l’occasion de multiples tests.
L’équipe a été formée autour du jeune espoir indonésien Sean Gelael qui s’est très rapidement inséré dans la compétition européenne en 2011, réalisant une spectaculaire progression. D’un naturel jovial et ouvert, Sean a noué des relations amicales avec des pilotes expérimentés qui l’ont logiquement rejoint au sein de Sean GP. Le Danois Nicolaj Moller Madsen, champion d’Europe 2010, l’Italien Antonio Giovinazzi, 3ème de la Coupe du
Monde 2011 et le Belge Sami Luka, champion d’Europe en titre, accompagnent désormais Sean
dans sa quête de victoire.
Sean GP s’est assuré les services des meilleurs techniciens européens avec à leur tête Renato Merlin, une figure marquante du karting depuis deux décennies. Le matériel utilisé provient de l’usine Tony Kart, une des meilleures marques de châssis en Italie. Pour ce début d’année, la motorisation est assurée par des mécaniques TM ou Vortex. La structure Sean GP dégage une forte image de professionnalisme avec un soin particulier apporté au moindre détail. Ici, le hasard n’a pas sa place et l’organisation n’est pas un vain mot. Pourtant, l’ambiance de l’équipe reste joyeuse et conviviale, faisant de Sean GP un
team véritablement à part.
La saison 2012 s’est ouverte par un superbe triplé de Giovinazzi, Moller Madsen et Luka sur les terres de l’équipe lors de l’Indonesia Kart Prix à Sentul fin janvier. Sean GP a maintenant rejoint l’Italie pour le début de sa campagne européenne.
La WSK Master Series et le célèbre Trophée Margutti ont pour objectif de permettre aux
pilotes et aux techniciens d’ajuster leur potentiel avant les rendez-vous importants à venir. Le but est en passe d’être atteint puisque Sami Luka vint de monter sur le podium du Margutti à Lonato.
Le programme comprend ensuite la réputée WSK Euro Series et ses 4 épreuves, le Championnat Asie Pacifique à Suzuka, les deux meetings du Championnat d’Europe, en Allemagne et au Royaume-Uni et la Coupe du Monde CIK-FIA disputée en Espagne fin septembre. Entrecoupée de nombreux entraînements, aussi bien en kart qu’en monoplace, 2012 s’achèvera sur une course exceptionnelle, le Supernationals à Las Vegas en novembre.
