IL PILOTA DI MARANELLO KART SI E’ RIVELATO FRA I MIGLIORI DEL WEEKEND IN KF2 ESALTANDO LA QUALITA’ DEL MATERIALE DELLA CASA ITALIANA NELL’APERTURA DEL WSK MASTER SERIES. IL 7° POSTO IN FINALE A RIDOSSO DEI PRIMI HA SODDISFATTO PILOTA E TEAM.
Muro Leccese (Lecce). Ancora una bella prestazione per Maranello Kart che sul Circuito Internazionale La Conca di Muro Leccese ha affrontato con successo la prima prova della WSK Master Series con Stefano Cucco in KF2 dopo il già positivo debutto di stagione alla Winter Cup di Lonato.
Nel lungo e impegnativo weekend pugliese, Stefano Cucco alla fine ha conquistato due ottimi piazzamenti, con un ottavo posto in prefinale per poi concludere al settimo in finale dopo una bella battaglia nelle prime posizioni. Il pilota della Maranello Kart si è rivelato fra i più veloci in assoluto, ottenendo il terzo miglior tempo assoluto in prefinale e il quarto tempo in finale adappena un decimo dai primi, e se fosse riuscito a concretizzare un miglior tempo in qualifica, avrebbe potuto scattare più avanti e ambire certamente con maggiori possibilità ad un posto sul podio.
E’ stata quindi una trasferta molto positiva per il team di Maranello Kart, per un inizio di stagione che si sta rivelando molto promettente. A Muro Leccese sono stati utilizzati sia il telaio modello RS12 che RS9, preferendo poi quest’ultimo in finale per la sua migliore adattabilità ad un asfalto caratterizzato da molto grip.
Dalla 28.ma posizione nelle qualifiche, Cucco ha potuto risalire con determinazione nelle manches di qualificazionefino al 13.mo posto complessivo. In prefinale con un’altra rimonta è riuscito quindi a conquistare l’8. posto per poi guadagnare un’altra posizione in finale al termine di una bella rimonta dopo una partenza un po’ sfortunata.
“E’ stato un weekend in crescendo – ha dichiarato con soddisfazione Stefano Cucco dopo la sua convincente prova – e dalle qualificazioni, dove purtroppo non sono riuscito a trovare il giro buono per fare un buon tempo, ho iniziato il mio recupero nelle manches di qualificazione piazzandomi sempre nelle prime dieci posizioni. Poi in prefinale ho ancora recuperato fino all’8. posto. In finale però la mia fila è restata penalizzata da una partenza lenta dei primi, per cui mi sono dovuto produrre in un’altra rimonta fino al 7. posto finale, con tempi molto interessanti e a ridosso dei più veloci. Senza questo inconveniente, avrei potuto concluderesenz’altro più avanti, e con un po’ di fortuna anche conquistare il podio. Sono comunque molto soddisfatto, il materiale si è rivelato ottimo, e mi sono trovato molto bene nella guida. Il prossimo appuntamento è a Sarno per la seconda prova del WSK Master Series, in una pista dove ho ottenuto sempre ottimi risultati. Lo scorso anno sulla pista campana ho vinto la mia prima gara nel WSK Euro Series e mi sono piazzato quinto al Mondiale. La pista di Sarno mipiace molto, spero di poter lottare per la vittoria!”
La soddisfazione è palpabile anche in casa Maranello. Questo il commento Alessandro Levratti, direttore sportivo del team: “Dopo una partenza un po’ difficile, siamo riusciti ad ottenere il meglio dal telaio RS9, che andando avanti nel weekend ci ha dato ottimi riscontri adattandosi bene al grip dell’asfalto della pista di La Conca. Alla fine infatti giravamo a livello dei primi, e questo ci ha permesso di inserirci fra i maggiori protagonisti della KF2. Nel prossimo appuntamento di Sarno contiamo di fare ancora meglio.”

MARANELLO KART PERFORMS WELL IN THE WSK MASTER SERIES OF LA CONCA THANKS TO STEFANO CUCCO IN KF2
THE MARANELLO KART DRIVER WAS AMONG THE TOP DRIVERS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WEEKEND IN KF2, GETTING THE BEST OUT OF THE EQUIPMENT OF THE ITALIAN MANUFACTURER IN THE FIRST APPOINTMENT OF THE WSK MASTER SERIES. THE 7th PLACE IN THE FINAL, JUST BEHIND THE FASTEST DRIVERS, WAS SATISFACTORY BOTH FOR THE TEAM AND THE DRIVER.
Muro Leccese (Lecce - Italy). Maranello Kart achieves another good performance on the La Conca International Circuit in Muro Leccese. In the first round of the WSK MasterSeries, Stefano Cucco was able to do a good performance in KF2 as he did at his season debut in the Winter Cup of Lonato.
In the long and demanding weekend in Puglia (Southern Italy), Stefano Cucco was eventually able to place 8th in the pre-final and then, in the final, he finished 7th after a hard fight for the first positions. The Maranello Kart driver was one of the overall fastest drivers, achieving the third best performance in the pre-final and the 4th in the final, just a tenth of a second slower than the first drivers.
Moreover, if he had managed to do a better time during the qualifying session, he would have started from the first rows of the starting grid and he would have stood more than a chance to step onto the podium.
So, for the Maranello Kart Team the weekend in Puglia was a very positive one: the beginning of the season is definitely very promising. In Muro Leccese the team adopted both the chassis model RS12 and RS9, but it was the latter the team chose for the final, thanks to its better adaptability on avery gripping asphalt.
From the 28th position after the qualification, Cucco was able to recover as far as the overall 13th place in the qualifying heats. In the pre-final, after another good recovery, he placed 8th and then, in the final, he gained another position after his last great recovery due to a rather unlucky start.
“The weekend got better and better - said a satisfied Stefano Cucco at the end of his convincing performance - and from the qualifying session, where I didn't manage to find the right lap to achieve a good time, onward I started to recover. In the qualifying heats I always placed in the first ten positions, then, in the pre-final, I placed 8th. In the final, unfortunately, my row was slowed down by the slow start of the first drivers, so I had once again to recover and I reached the final 7th place. I did very interesting times, always close to those of the fastest. Without that problem at the start, I could have finished in a better position and, with some luck, I could have even stepped onto the podium. Anyway, I'm really satisfied: the equipment is excellent, and I was at my ease behind the wheel. The next appointment is in Sarno for thesecond round of the WSK Master Series, on a track where I've always achieved good results. Last year, on the Southern Italian track, I won my first race in the WSK Euro Series, and I placed 5th in the World Championship. I do like the track in Sarno: I hope I will be able to fight for the win."
Great satisfaction also for the constructor, Maranello. This is Alessandro Levratti's comment (the sports manager of the team): "After a difficult start we managed to get the best out of the RS9 chassis. Later, in the weekend, the chassis gave us excellent results, adjusting to the gripping level of the track of La Conca. Eventually, we ran at the level of the best, and this permitted us to be among the top drivers in KF2. In the next appointment of Sarno we expect to do even better."
