Cela fait plus de cinq ans que Tec-Sav est devenu le motoriste de référence du karting international.Une position que la famille Savard a su conserver année après année grâce à son travail de développement et à son service approprié, qu’elle a toujours amélioré course après course.
La saison 2011 qui vient de s’écouler a encore permis à Tec-Sav et à ses partenaires de conquérir de nombreux titres en KZ, tant au niveau mondial que national: une cinquième Coupe du Monde consécutive, les sept premières places de la série GPO, un nouveau triomphe à Las Vegas, le quinté dans l’ordre au Trophée KART mag ou encore les nombreuses victoires à la WSK sont quelques illustrations des nombreux faits de gloire de ces techniciens aux mains d’or.
Réunis sous la bannière Tec-Sav, Patrick, Thierry, Eric et Yannick forment un quatuor de préparateurs, qui a encore contribué à mettre sur orbite pléthore de pilotes et de teams en 2011. L’une de leurs forces réside dans leur capacité à proposer à la fois un important parc de moteurs tous plus performants les uns que les autres, et à suivre de près leur évolution tout au long du week-end en collaboration avec les équipes et les pilotes qui leur font confiance.
Leur professionnalisme exacerbé se traduit par une quête incessante de la performance: traquer le moindre millième, augmenter encore le nombre de tours/minute, booster la puissance, garantir la fiabilité maximale, peaufiner la carburation ou encore optimiser les courbes de rendement par rapport aux différents tracés des circuits et du style du pilote.
“On ne veut rien laisser au hasard”, affirme Patrick Savard. “Cela sous-entend un gros travail à l’atelier comme sur la piste. Nous ne nous disons jamais que nous sommes arrivés à la limite, même si nous sommes aujourd’hui très proches du potentiel maximum d’un 125cc à boîte de vitesses. Il y a toujours quelque chose à gagner. Même lorsqu’un moteur est fixé au cadre d’un châssis, on peut encore aider le pilote à mieux l’exploiter. Améliorer un peu d’accélération, le couple ou la vitesse de pointe, c’est aussi notre rôle sur les circuits”.
La victoire de Jonathan Thonon (CRGMaxter) en est la plus belle preuve. C’est après un travail minutieux avec son équipe et son motoriste, que le Belge a pu remporter la Coupe du Monde KZ1, où les moteurs badgés Tec-Sav ont raflé les quatre premières places ! Outre ce partenariat gagnant avec CRG qui dure depuis plusieurs années, Tec-Sav a aussi triomphé avec Yannick De Brabander (Formula K-TM) à la WSK, avec Anthony Abbasse (Sodi-Maxter) auSupernationals à Las Vegas, avec Thomas Mich (Birel/MRT-TM) dans la série GPO, avec Bas Lammers (Intrepid-TM) à la WSK, avec Franck Matelli (Intrepid- TM) au Championnat de France KZ125 et bien d’autres...

Tec-Sav has been the engine-tuner reference point for international karting for five years now. A role that the Savard family has maintained year after year thanks to its development work and high-quality services, which have always improved race by race.
During the 2011 season that has just ended, Tec-Sav and its partners have conquered several titles in KZ, both at national and international level: the fifth World Cup in a row, the first seven places in the GPO series, a new triumph in Las Vegas, five places in the order at the Trophée KART mag, not to mention the many victories in the WSK: these are just a few examples of the many excellent achievements of these highly-skilled technicians.
Patrick, Thierry, Eric, and Yannick - gathered under the Tec-Sav banner - form a quartet of engine preparers who have contributed to launch quite a few drivers and teams in 2011. One of their strong points is their capacity to simultaneously offer a large stock of engines (all with impressive performances) and to follow closely their evolution throughout the weekend, in collaboration with the teams and drivers who have placed their trust in Tec-Sav.
Their extreme professionalism translates into a tireless quest for performance, exploiting even a thousand of a second, further increasing the number of revolutions/minute, boosting power, ensuring maximum reliability, polishing carburetion and optimising performance curves with regard to the different circuit
layouts and driving styles.
«We leave nothing to chance», Patrick Savard stated. «This requires some pretty heavy work both in the workshop and on the track. We never say we have reached the limit, although today we are very close to the maximum potential of a 125cc gearbox engine. There is always something to gain. Even if an engine is fixed to a chassis frame, it is still possible to help the driver to exploit it better. Improving a bit acceleration, torque or top speed is also our role on the circuits».
Jonathan Thonon’s victory (CRG-Maxter) is the best demonstration of this. It was after some very careful preparation work with his team and his engine tuner that the Belgian driver won the World Cup for KZ1, where Tec-Sav badged-engines walked away with the first four places!
