In the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sodikart was keen to prove its know-how, the competitiveness of its chassis and the quality of its service at the meeting with the greatest international visibility of the season: the Rotax Grand Final...Mission accomplished and wager won for the French constructor!
On the circuit of Al Ain (120 km from Abu Dhabi), the 72 Rotax Max Senior drivers coming from about 50 different countries were able to take advantage of the high level of performance offered by the Sodi ST32 TTT, whose efficiency and driving comfort were greatly appreciated.
Sodikart, which enjoys worldwide renown and repute for its international achievements as well as for its global presence on the leisure market, can definitely be satisfied with its transfer to the United Arab Emirates with Rotax, a long-time partner of the French company. «All the people who had the chance to be at least once at the Rotax Grand Final can bear witness to the extraordinary atmosphere that surrounds it. Huge effort is required to gather so many drivers and nationalities and we are proud to be part of this event for the second year in a row as official chassis supplier of the most popular and important category in the world», commented Gildas Mérian, CEO of Sodikart.
Despite all the incredible organisational efforts put in place for Rotax, the Sodi team spared no efforts in order to offer drivers top-quality service. The ST32 chassis arrived pre-assembled at the circuit of Al Ain in good time, and were ready for the moment drivers were eagerly waiting for: kart allocation by drawing lots. After the free practice sessions, where Sodikart technicians provided advice and ensured much welcome assistance, there was some very intense fighting during the timed qualifying session to take pole position, with tiny gaps between each Sodi-Rotax and the next.
«The first six karts were all in less than a tenth and there were as many as 60 drivers in the same second», remarked Nicola De Cola, in charge of the Sodi Racing Team. «This is not only proof of the very high level of this Grand Final, but also a confirmation of the equal chances that Sodikart and Rotax make it their duty to secure to entrants. The same happened during races. In the heats, the fastest laps of the top 20 drivers were often all in two tenths!» The Brit Ben Cooper walked away with victory, but suspense for the podium lasted until the very last second. In the end, as many as 17 nations had the honour of having their representatives in the top 20! At the arrival, the Sodikart team was pleased to learn that drivers were very satisfied with their chassis, starting with the winner… «I have had the opportunity to drive many chassis in my career and I can say that my Sodi was very pleasant to use and especially very
effective. The balance between the front and back axles is excellent and I have quickly found the good adjustments», said Cooper.
After the presentation of its 2012 models at the new CIK/FIA homologation, Anthony Abbasse’s victory in Las Vegas, the success of its new global partnership with Rotax and the supply of STX electric karts for the ERDF Masters Kart of Paris-Bercy, Sodikart keeps moving from success to success, while working hard every day to promote karting.

Marque mondialement connue et réputée pour ses résultats internationaux comme pour sa présence planétaire sur le marché du loisir, Sodikart tire un bilan extrêmement positif de son déplacement aux Emirats Arabes Unis au côté de Rotax, un partenaire de longue date de l’usine française. “Toutes les personnes qui ont eu la chance de participer au moins une fois à la Finale Mondiale Rotax peuvent témoigner de l’aura extraordinaire qu’elle possède. S’il a fallu mettre en place une incroyable organisation côté Rotax, l’équipe Sodi n’a pas ménagé ses efforts pour offrir aux pilotes un service haut de gamme. Arrivés pré-montés en temps et en heure sur le circuit d’Al Ain, les châssis ST32 étaient fin prêts pour le moment tant attendus des pilotes: la distribution par tirage au sort du matériel. Après les séances d’essais libres où les techniciens de Sodikart ont prodigué leur conseils et assuré une assistance bienvenue, la séance chronométrée officielle a donné lieu à un intense mano à mano pour l’obtention de la pole position, avec des écarts extrêmement réduits d’un Sodi-Rotax à l’autre.
“Les six premiers étaient groupés en moins d’un dixième et on retrouvait 60 pilotes dans le même seconde”, constatait Nicola De Cola, responsable du Sodi Racing Team. “C’est non seulement la preuve du niveau très relevé de cette Finale Mondiale, mais la confirmation de l’égalité des chances que Sodikart et Rotax se font un devoir de donner aux concurrents. Le phénomène s’est reproduit lors des courses. Dans les manches, il n’était pas rare que les meilleurs tours des 20 premiers des manches se tiennent en deux dixièmes !” L’Anglais Ben Cooper a réussi à l’emporter, tandis que le suspense pour le podium a duré jusqu’à la dernière seconde. Au final, pas moins de 17 nations ont eu l’honneur de voir un de leur représentant dans le top-20 ! A l’arrivée, l’équipe Sodikart a accueilli avec plaisir la satisfaction des pilotes à propos de son châssis, à commencer par celle du vainqueur… “J’ai eu l’occasion de piloter de nombreux châssis dans ma carrière et j’ai trouvé le Sodi très agréable à utiliser et surtout très efficace. L’équilibre entre les trains avant et arrière est excellent et j’ai rapidement mis le doigt sur les bons réglages”, déclarait Cooper.
Après la présentation de ses modèles 2012 lors de la nouvelle homologation CIK/FIA, la victoire d’Anthony Abbasse à Las Vegas, la réussite de ce nouveau partenariat d’envergure mondiale avec Rotax et la fourniture des châssis STX électrique lors du ERDF Masters Kart de Paris-Bercy, la société Sodikart continue de voler de succès en succès, tout en travaillant jour après jour pour la promotion du Karting.
