Formula K, come spesso sta capitando in questo 2011, ogni volta che scende in pista lascia il segno, che si tratti di una Coppa del Mondo (2° posto con Yannick De Brabander e 6° con Antonio Piccioni) o della WSK Euro Series (sempre i due piloti che hanno regalato un’incredibile doppietta nell’ultima prova del campionato, a Zuera in Spagna), solo per citare i due risultati più importanti di una stagione ricchissima di podi. Ma non solo. Perché a volte ci sono dei risultati che valgono doppio per tutta una serie di motivi. E la vittoria del Campionato Rotax Euro Challenge di Mikko Laine è uno di questi.
Già perché chi corre sa che vincere non è mai facile, ad ogni livello. Ma la grande struttura che Formula K mette a disposizione de i piloti ufficiali nelle principali competizioni Internazionali, è di sicuro un aiuto importante per affermarsi. Per questo il dominio di Mikko Laine nella categoria Masters del campionato Europeo del monomarca Rotax ha un sapore speciale. Perché a ottenerlo, oltre al pilota che in pista ha lottato curva dopo curva, è stato il Team Formula K Belgium: un team di spessore, come ha dimostrato in pista, e un rivenditore affermato di kart Formula K nel suo paese. Un team che, sempre per restare nel campionato Rotax Euro Challenge, ha portato altri piloti come per esempio Waltteri Vaakanainen nella Juniors. E lo stesso ha fatto un’altra realtà fondamentale come Formula K Holland che ha portato Dave Blom a fare tanto bene nella Juniors, da mancare per un solo punto il podio nel campionato. O che ha fatto correre piloti come Finn Kooijmann, 6° assoluto sempre nella Juniors; o, ancora, Barrie Pullinger e Shaun Slavin nella Seniors. Insomma, tante realtà Formula K che in Europa crescono e arricchiscono di esperienza e passione Formula K.
C’è poi un altro dettaglio a fare “la differenza”: la riconoscenza. Perché “la differenza” la fanno le persone, e Mikko Laine e il suo Team hanno dimostrato di essere capaci di farla in pista e fuori dalla pista. Un esempio? La mail di ringraziamenti dopo la vittoria, con un incipit che non ha bisogno di spiegazioni : “Dear Formula K family…”.

Formula K leaves a mark any time it goes on track and we’ve seen it happen often in this 2011: for instance, in the World Cup (2nd place with Yannick De Brabander and 6th with Antonio Piccioni) or the WSK Euro Series (the same two drivers were authors of an incredible double-win in the last championship round in Zuera, Spain), just to cite the two most important results of a season packed with podiums. But not only. Because some results are worth double for a whole range of reasons. And Mikko Laine’s victory in the Rotax Euro Challenge Championship is a case in point.
People who are used to racing know that winning is never easy, at any level. Yet, the great structure that Formula K makes available to its official drivers in all the main international competitions certainly helps them in important ways to attest themselves. And this is why Mikko Laine’s domination in the Masters category of the European Rotax single-brand championship has a special flavor. Author of this result was not just the driver, who fought bend after bend on the track, but also the entire Formula K Belgium Team: a capable team, as it proved on the field, and an affirmed retailer of Formula K kart in its country. The Belgians of Formula K, just to remain on the topic of the Rotax Euro Challenge championship, have also taken other drivers to the Juniors, like Waltteri Vaakanainen. And Formula K Holland, another key player, did the same, bringing Dave Blom, who did so well that he missed the Juniors championship podium by a mere single point. Formula K is a name that has put on the field drivers like Finn Kooijmann, 6th absolute, in the Juniors, or Barrie Pullinger and Shaun Slavin in the Seniors. In short, the many different Formula K realities across Europe just keep growing and contributing to the Formula K story with experience and passion.
But there’s one more detail that makes “a world of difference”: gratitude. Because it is people who make “a difference” and Mikko Laine and his Team have proven they are able to do so both on and off track. An example? The thank you e-mail sent after their victory, with an opening that speaks for itself: “Dear Formula K family…”.
